Today we’d like to introduce you to Marlene Dunphy.
Hi Marlene, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
For over 30 years, I worked alongside Dr. Eileen Connolly who was a teacher of Esoteric Study. She was the founder of Mincryology (study of crystals and minerals) that infuze healing. Dr. Connolly passed away six years ago; I decided to use Mincryology in my lotions and elixirs. Not only do you get the healing benifit, you also get the benefit of pure oils.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My business has had a few bumps in the road; three years ago, I had a reaction to cancer surgery and knocked me down for six months. I used my own products to heal my wounds, slowly, my body healed. After a year, I was back at shows – showing my wares and I decided to have my own Festival. I wanted to open up to holistic artists, farmers all local vendors. As well as teach holistic healing free to the public. Our first festival was in Durham and was a blast. We planned on doing one in 2021, and covid struck, leaving everything in the dust. So now I am planning to come back in the fall of 2021, and in 2022 Festival of Life will come back in Apex, Midtown Park in North Hills (North Raleigh) 4011 Cardinal at North Hills Street, Park at N Hills St, Raleigh, NC 27609. We are very excited to come back.
We’ve been impressed with Dunphy Naturals, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
In 2015, Marlene, Dale, and Erin created Dunphy Naturals. This unique business was created on the foundation of Mincryology (The study of Minerals and Crystals.) It is Marlene’s goal to create products that enclose the energy of healing. “Thanks to the inspiration of my family, we have created products now available and are currently working on more.” We strive to bring light everyday… To keep our nana’s light shining thru our family business for generations.”
I am a mother, wife, grandmother, sister and a friend. My husband, daughter, and sisters are working with me on this journey to reach out and show Dunphy Naturals. My sister’s company is BoMiSo which we sell on Dunphy Naturals; she is a wonderful soap maker and Spectrum Mincryologist. And my daughter has helped me with the graphics and anything else that needs to be done. Included in Dunphy Naturals is the help of my 5-year-old grandson and the best babysitter ever! Grandpa. This is a family affair and we all enjoy working together sharing.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Think, listen to others’ needs find the product that will help. And be kind. Going thru cancer was the most frightening experience, yet I learned to have patience. That was my biggest lesson.
