Today we’d like to introduce you to Noe Puentes.
Hi Noe, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I was introduced to the world of construction at a very young age. When I was around 15 years old I started working as a framer with my dad. During that same time, I was also pursuing a career as a professional football (soccer) player. I would go to tryouts around the nation all the time; therefore, it was hard to keep the same job. Years later, I realized that from so much jumping around from job-to-job I had acquired experience in framing, plumbing, installing granite countertops, installing drywall, and some electricity.
I didn’t know how knowing all these different things would help me in the future, but I thought about it often. My dream of playing football forever did not come true; however, I was able to go to different countries in East Europe, as well as play in California. After that chapter in my life, I came back to North Carolina. A year later my wife and I decided it was time to stop renting. We found a good house and went under contract. It was the first time we had bought a house; for that reason, we were ignorant to the fact that “an inspector” had to inspect the home.
Once the inspection was done, I read through the report and was extremely confused by it. I also never spoke to the inspector directly which meant I didn’t have his contact information. I ended up getting some people that I knew to inspect the roof, electricity, and AC unit while I inspected everything else. This, undoubtedly, sparked something in me. I knew that there had to be a better way of writing reports so that the average person understood them. A couple of months later, I took all the courses needed and got my North Carolina home inspector license.
Since then, I have helped a good deal of families by inspecting their future homes. I also realized during this process that there is a lack of bilingual inspectors. I didn’t understand the report that was given to me, although it was in a language that I fully understand; that being the case, imagine someone receiving it in a completely different language, and not having a direct phone number or email to reach their inspector at.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I am a firm believer that when you are comfortable with something in life, the ride is always smooth. The inspection side of things has gone very smoothly since I am an inspector that has actually worked in the construction of homes from the foundation all the way to the painting.
The business side of things has had the struggles most start-up businesses have. Nevertheless, the more agents and homebuyers I work with, the more they realize that I perform quality inspections. As a consequence, my business has been growing.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Puentes Home Inspections Inc. provides crucial information so that you don’t have to gamble with your investment. Buying your dream home is a major life decision, and the last thing you want to do is get into a home that isn’t inspected. We provide general home inspections, as well as radon inspections.
What sets us apart is the customer service we provide, as well as the software we use to write reports. The software makes it so easy to understand the report and provides over 100 photos to better illustrate what the inspector is wanting to bring to your attention. As far as customer service, we always respond through text, email, or phone within the hour any day of the week. We also work on the weekends, as well as on rainy days.
Time is of the essence when a house goes under contract and we are very aware of this; for this reason, our reports are done and sent to clients 12 hours after inspection. All we ask is that you try us one time, as one time is all you need to be convinced of the great service we provide.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Being personable. I think being able to connect with other human beings is the best characteristic one can have.
