Exploring Life & Business with Noe Sariban of Move It Physical Therapy / The Pickleball Doctor

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noe Sariban.

Hi Noe, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Dr. Noe Sariban, a Doctor of Physical Therapy and the founder of Move It Physical Therapy in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. I’m also known in the Pickleball community as The Pickleball Doctor, where I combine my background in sports medicine with my passion for helping players stay healthy, improve their game, and perform at their highest level.

I was born in Boston and spent much of my childhood growing up in Belgium before returning to the United States at 19. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland and went on to complete my Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Duke University. After graduating, I pursued extensive post-graduate training in manual therapy, spinal manipulation, dry needling, blood flow restriction, strength and conditioning, and sports performance.

I began playing pickleball in 2016 and quickly became immersed in the sport. I’m a Certified Pickleball Teaching Professional and have competed at the professional level. In addition to treating injuries and optimizing movement, I also provide on-court pickleball instruction, clinics, camps, and private lessons all over the country, focusing on both technical skill development and efficient, injury-resistant movement patterns.

Today, I work with pickleball players of all ages and skill levels, from recreational athletes to elite professionals. I also serve as the tournament physical therapist for the world’s top men’s player, Ben Johns, providing on-site care, injury prevention, and performance support on the pro tour.

Through Move It Physical Therapy and my platform – The Pickleball Doctor – , I focus on delivering evidence-based rehabilitation, injury prevention, performance training, and pickleball-specific education. My goal is to bridge the gap between physical therapy and coaching so athletes can move better, play smarter, and stay out of pain—both on and off the court.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Along the way, I’ve had to overcome several challenges that shaped who I am today. Growing up across different countries forced me to adapt quickly and find my footing in new environments. Later, building my own practice required being willing to take some risk and not having a stable 9 to 5 position, and learning how to be both a clinician and an entrepreneur.

I also had to carve out a role that didn’t really exist — blending physical therapy with high-level pickleball instruction, as well as becoming the PT for world’s number 1 Pickleball Player, Ben Johns. Early on, I had to prove that these two worlds belong together and that athletes deserve an approach focused on both performance and long-term health.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

What makes you happy?
I’m happiest when I’m helping people, staying active, and building something meaningful. Seeing others improve, watching my ideas come to life, and constantly learning and evolving are what truly energize me. Most importantly, balancing everything so that I have plenty of time with my wife and children, as well as my friends is why I do everything I do, and what makes me truly happy!
