Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Kirkpatrick.
Hi Tiffany, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Miladas began long before it became a boutique. Over ten years ago, my husband came home from war injured. I left my job as a pharmacy technician to care for him and our sons. As Christmas approached, money was tight and I couldn’t afford gifts. When my Gramma asked what I wanted, I told her: a metal stamping kit.
I sat at our kitchen table making jewelry piece by piece, and over time I created more than a thousand custom pieces. Those sales helped us cover grocery bills and gave me a way to contribute during one of the hardest seasons of our lives.
So where did the name come from?
My husband, recovering from treatment, would watch me pounding away at the kitchen table. I could feel him thinking, “Would you shut up, wifey?” — and that’s how Silent Miladas was born. A little humor, a lot of love, and the sound of metal stamping echoing through our home.
The good news?
Miladas is no longer silent.
It has grown, evolved, and blossomed into so much more — a boutique built on love, resilience, and the belief that beautiful things can grow from the hardest moments.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Our brick & mortar has been open almost a year. We definitely had some obstacles during construction, and then road construction.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Miladas?
Miladas is more than a boutique — it’s a story of resilience, family, and heart.
Everything about Miladas is rooted in love: the name, the journey, the brand, and the purpose behind it. What started as a way to support your family during a difficult season has grown into a thriving, warm, community-centered shop in downtown Jacksonville.
People should know that Miladas is:
• A place where every woman is welcomed, encouraged, and uplifted.
• A boutique built on authenticity, kindness, and personal connection.
• A local small business that believes in giving back, supporting makers, and strengthening community.
• Born from real life, real grit, and real love.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In the boutique world, we have to make the trends our friend & lean into it.
