Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Roberts.
Hi Tiffany, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I went to the University of Michigan for my bachelors degree in Business Management, then while working full-time in corporate America, I earned my Masters of Business degree. I worked for over a decade in the field of Supply Chain. Although I loved the field, the inflexibility of a corporate desk job left me longing to own my own business.
I had always wanted to be a business owner, but I was struggling to find the right business that fit both my interests, and desire for a flexible schedule. One day as I was scrolling on my phone, I saw a video of people walking around in a life-size version of their blueprints. I was amazed, and intrigued. I immediately wanted to find out more information.
I discovered that the Charlotte territory was still available to purchase, and I jumped at the opportunity.
I’m a DIY guru, and usually have a home improvement project in the works. I like to get my hands dirty, and especially enjoy the demolition portion of the job.
I’m a mother to two little girls, and being available for all of their big moments is my reason why I took the leap and opened my own business. I’m also passionate about animal welfare, and I have two cats and two dogs, all of whom we rescued. In my spare time, I enjoy snowboarding, boating, paddle boarding, and hiking.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Opening the new business was pretty straightforward. I have an excellent project management spirit, and dove into the process with great passion. Once the business was open is when I began to struggle. Since Walk Thru Plans is such new technology, many people had never heard of the concept. Finding customers is much more difficult if they don’t understand what the service is, that you are providing. I found that each client first needs to be educated about what we offer, before they will reach out to schedule an appointment. Since Walk Thru Plans is such a unique concept, educating the public has been the greatest challenge so far. Once clients see what we offer, they are hooked!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Walk Thru Plans – Charlotte is an architectural design studio, where we bring your plans to life. We take your blueprints and make them real-life scale, so that our clients are able to experience their plans before a single brick is laid. We have real furniture on wheels and movable walls so that you can really feel your new space.
Through our immersive experience, our clients are able to find design issues, and correct them immediately, to avoid costly change orders during construction. This saves both time and money for the client and builder.
Our clients are homeowners who are building new construction, undergoing a large renovation, adding an addition, or installing the backyard of their dreams. We also work with businesses who are building new commercial properties, and landscape architects. Any plans you have, we can work with!

How do you think about luck?
The good luck that I had was being able to purchase the rights to the Charlotte market before others got to it. Aside from that, hard work and internal motivation are what has gotten me to where I am today.
