Hi Viktoriya , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Received my masters in clinical mental health counseling. Started a private practice specializing in Anxiety Disorders using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) . Once COVID hit i was unable to conduct in person sessions which allowed me to put more time and energy into my little “side hustle’ of reselling designer handbags.
This side hustle took off and grew into a multi-million dollar business with an amazing team that manages much of the day to day operations. We have now become the leaders in luxury resale and consignment industry with over 8 figures in sales yearly.
As an immigrant from communist Eastern Europe this was not something i could have ever dreamed of. Growing up in our small 1 bedroom infested cockroach apartment that was shared with my grandparents, and clothes purchased from garage sales , i could never have imagine owning anything designer let alone running a business full of them.
I want to make it known that this success did not happen overnight. On average i work about 85 hours per week over the course of almost 5 years. This means i sacrifice spending time with my child, my husband, and my social life is completely non existent. There is no such thing as a work-life balance in my life, weekends, or vacations. I also take huge risk of being scammed and lots of stress behind the scenes of operating this type of business. With that being said I’m absolutely obsessed with what i do and am grateful every day for this opportunity that i was given.
The resale industry is a billion dollar business that will only increase with time. Why pay retail prices for a product that will lose an average of 40-70% in value once it leaves the store when instead you can get an amazing price for an item that is half the price in excellent condition and guaranteed authentic? Not only will you save hundreds and even thousands of dollars but you are supporting a woman run business, increases sustainability, and be a part of a wonderful community. Paying full price is an old school mentality and the astronomical rise in resale products demonstrates that this is a trend that is. here to stay.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Absolutely not smooth. Tons of scams, tons of sacrifice, and tons of stress.
