Today we’d like to introduce you to Alicia McIntyre.
Hi Alicia, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been in the massage therapy profession since 2008. I have worked in various settings including, chain massage clinics, a spa on a cruise ship, a luxury spa here in Raleigh, as well as a private practice. I love massage therapy so much and I wanted to be able to provide my clients with the best service possible. Opening my own practice gave me the ability to do things I felt were best for my clients as well as for myself. Oak City Massage Therapy has been in business since 2016.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a mostly smooth road, managing a business and a growing family is the most difficult part about it so far.

We offer a more comprehensive massage than most popular chains or spas. We specialize in therapeutic, deep tissue, orthopedic/medical massage and prenatal/postpartum massage. We are most proud of the fact that when clients come to us with a specific pain whether chronic or acute we are often able to assist them in their recovery. How do you think about happiness?
Being with my family makes me happy. My husband and I have two daughters Avery and Jaclyn (7&2) they are the best! We love going on walks, reading and playing. I also enjoy rock climbing which helps keeps my hands in shape. I’m always happy to be lost in a good book and enjoy doing origami in my spare time.
