Hidden Gems: Meet Amy Quick of A’s for kids nonprofit corporation /Accents hair salon .

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Quick.

Hi Amy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Originally from New York, I have always been passionate about fighting for local justice and volunteering within my community. Known for my helpful nature and strong friendships, I carried my dedication to service with me when I moved to North Carolina. After attending hair school, I devoted ten years to building my career and proudly became the owner of my Accents Hair Salon off of Glenwood avenue in Raleigh.
As a nonprofit leader in Wake County, I work tirelessly to ensure that children have access to backpacks, school supplies, and essential resources throughout the year—including support for holidays, times of grief, and hair care needs.
I am a single mother of two wonderful daughters and a devoted caregiver to my grandmother, striving every day to uplift those around me and make a positive impact in my community.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No matter the challenges I face, I am dedicated to remaining a source of strength, positivity, and support for my family and my community. My story is one of perseverance, showing that obstacles may shape my path, but they never define who I am—or who I will continue to become.
