Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Pendleton
Hi Chris, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’m 47, have played and written music since I was 16 years old. My first band; Legless Blue, was a prominent Raleigh band in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Playing with acts such as Oteil Burbridge, and the side stage at Walnut Creek before the Black Crowes and Jimmy Page tour . Currently singer/songwriter for Daycrawlers, a Raleigh
NC Americana/Alt-Country band. We have been together around 1 year, and have just released our debut EP on all music platforms.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As smooth as it can get in Daycrawlers currently. Talented and tight from the first time we played. Definitely struggles in my first band, Legless Blue. This was 25 years ago though. I’m too old to struggle too much these days. As far as music goes anyway. We keep it as light as possible in Daycrawlers.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I have small appraisal firm that specializes in residential real estate, that is based in Cary, NC. I have been an appraiser for 13 years. I was able to enter the industry through interning with my father, who was also an appraiser. It is a nearly impossible industry to enter.
How do you define success?
The definition of success is different for everyone. To me it’s setting small achievable and realistic goals one at a time, accomplishing them, then setting more. Eventually massing many successes
