Today we’d like to introduce you to Coach Fred Foreman Sr..
Hi Coach Fred, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Absolutely. My name is Fred Foreman Sr., but many know me as Coach Fred – The Mindset Compass Coach. My journey began with a focus on mental survival—there were seasons in my life when just making it through the day emotionally and spiritually was a major win. I’ve been through depression, identity struggles, and seasons of uncertainty, but I believe every experience was shaping me for my calling.
For the last 10 years, I’ve been running One Blood Movement of Unity Inc. (OBMOU), a nonprofit committed to serving the community through mentoring, outreach, and acts of unity. We’ve been blessed to feed over 5,000 people for Thanksgiving alone. It didn’t start out that way, but God kept growing us, and we kept showing up. I serve the community to the best of my ability and have also coached youth football for over 22 years, which has allowed me to mentor countless young men through sports.
I work alongside some truly amazing people—especially my board members, who go above and beyond to meet the needs of OBMOU. I am also a husband of 23 years to my beautiful wife Donu and a father to four incredible children—two young men (one a college graduate, the other currently in college), and two young princesses in 6th and 8th grade. I am truly blessed. Isaiah, Fred Jr., Roslyn, and Savin
More recently, I’ve been gaining momentum with my life coaching business, Coach Fred Life Coaching. I’ve intentionally separated it from OBMOU so that the nonprofit can stay focused on community projects and mentoring youth, while Coach Fred centers on helping men and women reach their full potential in life. Whether I’m coaching someone through life transitions or mentoring a teen through football, my mission is the same: to bring clarity, confidence, and purpose to those who feel lost or stuck.
This journey has never been about perfection—it’s about purpose, people, and pressing forward. I’m just grateful to serve.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. This journey has come with a lot of bumps, battles, and breakdowns. I’ve had to fight through depression, rejection, identity confusion, and the weight of trying to be everything for everybody while still trying to figure out who I was.
There were seasons where the vision felt too big and the support too small. Financial struggles hit hard—especially running a nonprofit out of pocket in the early years. There were times I wanted to give up, when it felt like the help I needed wasn’t there, or when I felt unseen and unheard as a man, a husband, and a leader.
Balancing my marriage, raising four kids, and keeping my faith strong while serving others has stretched me more than I can explain. Even coaching youth football, which I love, has had its challenges when I was pouring into young people while personally feeling empty. And starting a life coaching business after separating it from OBMOU hasn’t been easy—building a brand from scratch takes a lot of trust in God and belief in yourself.
But through it all, I’ve learned that the struggle shapes the strength. The hard times made me real, and they made me relatable. Every setback became a setup for greater purpose. I’m still standing, still serving, and still pressing forward with gratitude in my heart and fire in my soul.
As you know, we’re big fans of One Blood Movement of Unity Inc.. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Absolutely. I operate in two lanes that both feed into the same mission: helping people become the best version of themselves—mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and socially.
First, I’m the founder and CEO of One Blood Movement of Unity Inc. (OBMOU), a nonprofit I’ve led for the last 10 years. We’re known for our hands-on community work—feeding the homeless, mentoring youth, and bringing people together across different walks of life. One of our proudest accomplishments is feeding over 5,000 people during our Thanksgiving outreach efforts. But we don’t just serve meals—we serve hope. We show up where people are hurting and do our best to be the bridge.
Second, I run Coach Fred Life Coaching, my personal coaching brand. This business is where I help men and women who feel stuck, broken, or lost rediscover their identity, break through mental and emotional barriers, and move forward in purpose. I specialize in mindset transformation, emotional healing, and identity coaching—especially for men between the ages of 35 and 50 who are silently struggling. What makes my coaching different is that it’s not just motivational—it’s transformational. I meet people where they are and help them get to where they’ve been called to be.
What sets me apart is the fact that I live what I teach. I’ve been through it, I’ve healed from it, and I now coach from that place. I’m not about surface-level inspiration. I go deep. I use faith, practical tools, personal experience, and accountability to guide people to real change.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of how authentic both OBMOU and Coach Fred are. We’re not driven by numbers—we’re driven by impact. Whether I’m speaking at a summit, mentoring a young man, or coaching a father trying to find balance, it’s all rooted in love, unity, and purpose.
To your readers: If you’re looking for someone who truly cares, who will walk with you through your process without judgment, and who will help you rise again—that’s what I do. Whether it’s through community outreach or life coaching, I’m here to help you heal, grow, and thrive.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories was a family vacation to the mountains with my parents and my two older brothers. It was a little over a year before my mother passed, so looking back, it means even more to me now. We had such a great time just being together—laughing, exploring, and enjoying each other without distractions. It wasn’t about how fancy the trip was—it was the togetherness, the peace, and the love we shared. That memory will always have a special place in my heart because it reminds me of the value of family and making the most of the moments we have.
