Hidden Gems: Meet Devin Jenkins of Share The Vibes

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Devin Jenkins.

Hi Devin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Share The Vibes began as a Facebook group with about 20-40 members in May 2019 so that I could stop sending text messages to my friends when I heard music that I liked.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but this was my way of starting to build a community around music sharing. Since then, Share The Vibes has become an official LLC that builds a community around the world through music and technology!

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Any creative or entrepreneurial journey comes with its challenges. Building Share The Vibes has been a deep exercise in walking by faith and learning as I go. This isn’t something I’ve had a lot of finances to invest in or hundreds of customers ready to purchase my services and products. Most of what I’ve done over the last five years has been taking risks and trusting that everything will work out, even when I don’t know where the money or people are coming from.

Additionally, I have a full-time job, a wife and two daughters, and organizational commitments, so balancing entrepreneurship with these things requires a lot of discipline, sacrifice, organization, and focus. And… I don’t always do it well. But I’ve learned to give myself grace as I continue to work through it all and celebrate my small wins. I’ve also surrounded myself with people who hold me accountable and help ease the load, so the challenges don’t stop the growth.

Share The Vibes, LLC is committed to fostering community growth through music and technology, offering platforms for emerging artists and providing valuable educational resources to empower creatives. We offer professional DJ services, podcasting, exclusive merchandise, and our annual Share The Vibes Music & Technology Festival.

Our 3rd Annual Share The Vibes Fest, is happening on July 13th in Milwaukee, WI, at the brand new music venue Vivarium (1818 N Farwell Ave Milwaukee, WI 53202)! Share The Vibes Fest is our hallmark event each year, promoting emerging music artists, providing technology education, highlighting small businesses, and ultimately facilitating community building through music and technology.

This year’s festival will feature seven live performances by emerging artists of color, with the growing sensation Partyat4 headlining. It will also feature a tech workshop on using AI to build generational wealth, a live podcast on AI’s impact on the entertainment industry, small business vendors of color, music-based audience competitions, and more!

Cookouts at my granddaddy’s house on the back patio! I can smell the chicken and ribs now.

There was nothing I loved more than all of the family being in town, having a good time, and enjoying my grandfather’s cooking. Sometimes, he would even let me help season the meat!
