Hidden Gems: Meet Devin of Load it all Transportation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Devin.

Hi Devin, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I began my transportation business in July 2024 during a challenging season in my life. While working a traditional job, I had to undergo knee surgery from a previous injury. What seemed like a setback became a turning point, and I truly believe God used that moment to redirect my path and push me toward something greater.

With a background in warehouse operations and logistics, I already understood the industry, but this time I stepped out on faith and committed fully to building my own business. I didn’t have the funds to purchase a van at the start, so I trusted the process and rented one for the first three months. During that time, I was blessed with the opportunity to secure a tire delivery contract, which provided consistency and allowed me to build a foundation.

Through discipline, faith, and persistence, I was able to reinvest and purchase my own van just a few months later. Since then, I’ve been operating as both the owner and driver, managing my own dispatching and day-to-day operations. I’ve handled a wide range of work, including general deliveries, dedicated lanes, and I now specialize in expedited freight.

I take pride in being hands-on and committed, and I continue to trust God in every step of this journey. What started as a difficult situation has turned into a purpose-driven business, and I’m dedicated to growing it with integrity, consistency, and faith.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has definitely not been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape me and strengthen my faith. One of my biggest obstacles was starting this business with limited resources. I didn’t have the capital to purchase a van in the beginning, so I had to take a risk and rent one while figuring things out as I went. That required a lot of faith, discipline, and belief that things would work out.

Another major challenge was transitioning from having a steady job to becoming fully responsible for my own income. There were moments of uncertainty, especially early on, where consistency wasn’t guaranteed. On top of that, I was recovering from knee surgery, which made the physical demands of the job even more challenging.

Running everything on my own has also been a test—being the driver, dispatcher, and business owner all at once means long hours, problem-solving on the fly, and staying mentally strong even when things don’t go as planned.

Through it all, I’ve relied on God for guidance, strength, and perseverance. Every obstacle has pushed me to grow, stay focused, and trust the process. Instead of breaking me, these challenges built my resilience and confirmed that I’m on the right path.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
I’ve learned that mentorship isn’t always formal—you won’t always have someone holding your hand. Sometimes it comes from being in the field, paying attention, and learning from those who are ahead of you. I’ve grown by staying observant, asking the right questions, and applying what I learn in real time.

When it comes to networking, I focus on building real relationships, not just chasing opportunities. Being dependable, communicating clearly, and doing good business has opened more doors for me than anything else. People respect consistency, and that’s something I take seriously.

I also rely heavily on faith. I believe God will place the right people in your path at the right time, but it’s your responsibility to be prepared when those moments come. Even without a traditional mentor, I’ve trusted the process and stayed committed to growing every day.
