Hidden Gems: Meet Dr. Erika McCormick of Abundant Living Consulting Corporation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Erika McCormick. They and their team shared their story with us below:

Dr. Erika McCormick renowned National and International Multi-Award-Winning Entrepreneur, Business Consultant & Master Coach, Best-Selling Author, and Speaker. 

Dr. McCormick is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Abundant Living Consulting Corporation, LLC, the umbrella business entity for The Abundance Business Center, CreditFlex Technologies, TaxNest Financials, VARep Solutions, Eden + Co. Real Estate Holdings Inc, The CEO Network Corporation, and Freedom Financial Group. 

Erika is the visionary and co-author of several anthology projects to include Business with G.R.I.T.S, Kingsmen, “ The Business Blueprint” {To include volume titles “The Money Management Manual ” and “The Interactive Self-Help Guide to Entrepreneurial Wellness} – a volume book series for aspiring and current business owners and newest upcoming book “Under Construction -Yet Operable. 

Dr. McCormick has been honored with several awards based on her exceptional work ethic, coaching others, and community leadership to include but not limited to Fayetteville’s Top 40 under 40 Business Awards, The Business Elite Award in NYC, and The Stevie Award Honorable Judge for Women in Business and Leadership for 2 consecutive years. 

Erika’s Most honorable badge is motherhood, where she gets to experience abundant life with her daughter and teach her the valuable skills of education, success, and legacy. Erika is also a proud and active member of Delta Mu Delta, Chi Sigma Iota, Ps Chi, NSBE, W.I.S.E, U.S. Chambers of Commerce, Greater Fayetteville Chamber, and the Elevate Professional Women’s Network. She is also an ambassador of Project Semicolon and a Doctoral Studies Professional Development Mentor for her Alma Mater, Capella University. 

Erika attended Seventy-First High School in Fayetteville, NC, and graduated with honors in the Top 10% of her graduating class. She earned her Associates of Arts Degree from Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington, NC, with a Major in Counseling Psychology & Applied and a Minor in Law & Justice. She earned her Bachelor of Science with a Double Major in Industrial & Organizational Psychology and Information Systems. Erika also received her Leadership Master of Science Degree from Capella University with a specialization in Multidisciplinary Human Services. Erika received her Doctor of Education (EdD) degree from Capella University with a specialization in Performance Improvement Leadership. She is also currently pursuing her EdD doctoral degree with a concentration in Organizational Leadership and Development. 

Erika is a trailblazer and an emerging leader of the millennial generation. Erika has a great passion for mental health, suicide awareness, and prevention and actively supports the board for Project Semicolon. She also impacts her community by helping others navigate life through educational frameworks and core fundamentals through her specializations in professional development, leadership, business coaching, resilience, and organizational change. 

In addition to being a positioning Business Consultant & Master CEO Coach, Erika is also a community activist & liaison for diversity and inclusion. Erika actively participates in the Annual International Folk Festival as a member of the Raven Rock Native American Tribe, Eastern Band Cherokee Tribe, and the United Cherokee Nation (UCN) to show homage to her multicultural background and Native-American descent. 

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Abundant Living Consulting Corporation (ALCC) was founded in 2013 with a single mission: to help more families and businesses attract, obtain, & promote abundance and legacy. We sought to fix what we thought was a problematic problem inside our current school systems. At one point in our history, it was a standard practice to take over a family business or to be taught simple financial concepts. With this practice no longer a staple point, many families today are struggling because there is a lack of education in the areas of finance and business. 

Throughout the duration of our business journey, we have faced several trials and tribulations…However, we overcame and maintained our faith. Through the course of the past 10 years of being an entrepreneur for myself and my best friend, who is also my business partner, we have had very humble beginnings and experienced great losses and many wins. 

None of my success would be possible without my team. Kerstin Driver (CFO) and Jasmine Liburd (COO). We are a solid and dynamic team at ALCC. We operate in our purpose and keep God as the forefront of our business and success. We answered the call for God’s mission and purpose of our life. We were obedient, we did the work, we stayed the course; through every triumph, we prayed through it and stayed to it. 

Fast Forward years later, we are now in our own headquarters location, just walking distance from where we begun. Have grown an amazing and dynamic team, and We now own 7 subsidiary companies with Abundant Living Consulting Corp and have assisted OVER 300 individuals become entrepreneurs… And the best part is God said we just getting started. 

Moral of the story: Start the business, Trust God, and walk by Faith and not By Sight. We are Just best friends who love Jesus and share a passion and purpose for helping people and leaving the world better than we found it.

The most important quality to our success is never giving up, having a solid and strong team, and navigating your purpose. Through every obstacle that we faced, we remained in good faith and trusted God with our passion and purpose in life. We are also very community-driven and are always giving back to our communities. We understand that embracing diversity helps create an inclusive culture. We encourage staff loyalty and show commitment to good business ethics for the equality and inclusion of all, especially our minority communities.
