Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Morella
Hi Jessica, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey to healing began long before I started my coaching practice. As a Registered Nurse and a Certified Trauma-Informed Practitioner, I spent years caring for patients, witnessing the deep impacts of not just physical, but correlating emotional trauma- seeing firsthand how the healthcare system often failed to treat the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. I always felt a longing to go beyond the symptoms and really see the person in front of me, but at the time, I didn’t realize how that would one day shape my own healing path.
I began my nursing career in the Emergency Department of a Level 1 Trauma Center and later in Interventional Radiology, treating the sickest of the sick. Every day, the reality was the same—more patients than staff, and the healthcare system focused solely on diagnosing and treating diseases. I quickly became aware of how broken the system was. It treated symptoms, not people. I wanted to offer more. I wanted to address not just the body but the mind and spirit too. My intuition constantly told me that patients needed more than just pills and procedures—they needed human connection, someone who could truly see them.
Then came the pandemic. After years of serving in hospitals during incredibly intense times, I realized I had reached my breaking point. The emotional and physical toll of the pandemic left me numb, disconnected from myself, and unable to listen to my intuition. I felt emotionally and spiritually depleted, and my body began to show signs of the trauma I’d experienced. In an act of self-love, I made the difficult decision to leave emergency medicine and step away from hospital-based nursing.
I wasn’t sure what the future held, but I knew I had to shift my focus to my own healing. I transitioned into community health, where I worked with under-served populations, helping them navigate the broken healthcare system. This work was transformative. I spent more time holding space for people than I did on medical tasks. Many of my patients had suffered deep wounds from trauma—often generational—and they began to open up to me in ways that surprised us both. I found purpose in supporting them emotionally, guiding them toward therapy, and encouraging them to seek the healing they desperately needed.
During this time, I realized something profound: trauma was at the root of so many of my patients’ struggles. It became clear to me that the constant stress of living in trauma—whether from abuse, neglect, or lack of resources—had an undeniable impact on one’s health and wellness. These realizations didn’t just change my perspective on others; they started to shift my own journey of healing.
For years, I stayed in traditional talk therapy, revisiting my traumatic childhood, cPTSD, and painful relationships. But it wasn’t until I explored embodied trauma therapy with an intuitive therapist that everything shifted. In just six months, I felt like I had made more progress than I had in a decade. I learned to listen to and reconnect with my body, create safety within it, and reprocess my trauma. I began to rebuild my self-worth, self-trust, and realized how absent safety had been in my life. I learned to listen when my body or spirit were in distress, self-soothe, and create space for healing, finally resolving a lifetime of hurt and the poor coping mechanisms that had developed as a result.
Through this process, I accepted the inner knowing, that I had always been a healer. I answered my calling to share my journey with others, founding The Sacred Healing Collective to support others on their own unique healing paths. My struggles, though painful, gave me the wisdom, strength, and resilience to empathize with and guide others through their trauma, helping them finally receive the healing they deserve.
My vision in creating The Sacred Healing Collective was to combine my nursing background, certification as a trauma-informed practitioner, and personal healing experience into a coaching practice that helps others heal holistically—body, mind, and spirit. I now work with individuals who are ready to address their trauma, rebuild their self-worth, and create a life of self-love and empowerment. My approach is not just about treating symptoms; it’s about acknowledging the whole person, listening deeply, and supporting growth and healing in every aspect of their life.
I am deeply passionate about helping others create the life they deserve, just as I’ve worked to create mine. My story is one of transformation, and I’m here to help others experience the same kind of radical change and empowerment.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has definitely not always been smooth, but it has always been worth it! The biggest struggle along my path was learning to prioritize my own healing and reconnecting with myself- body, mind and spirit, especially after years of neglecting my own needs while caring for others not only as an RN but as a woman. Working in healthcare, I gave so much of myself, but it wasn’t until the emotional and physical toll of the pandemic left me numb that I realized I needed to put myself first.
Stepping away from my career in nursing was a terrifying decision, but it was a crucial act of self-love. The real challenge came when I had to face and reconcile with my own past—childhood trauma and unhealthy relationships I had long avoided. Acknowledging these wounds and the impact they had on my life was painful, but it was necessary for my healing.
Healing myself allowed me to finally connect with my authentic self and learn how to show up for others in a deeper, more holistic way. This journey was difficult, but it’s what ultimately led me to a place where I could help others heal too.
Juggling a clinical career, a family, my household as well as continuing my education, receiving my second bachelors degree and multiple trauma and coaching certifications all while launching my coaching practice, was rough at times. However, even on the hard days, I knew it was what I was being called to do and so often times I feel like I surrendered to the flow of what I knew was meant for my life and let it take me where I was meant to go.
We’ve been impressed with The Sacred Healing Collective, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My coaching practice is deeply focused on helping individuals understand how past trauma and attachment styles will continue to impact the health of their adult relationships and overall life satisfaction, if not addressed. I specialize in trauma-informed life and relationship coaching, helping clients understand how childhood experiences, attachment and trauma impact the patterns we often recreate as adults. We explore how unresolved wounds shape their current relationship dynamics and most importantly their relationship with themselves. My approach integrates clinical insights with lived experience from my own personal healing journey, blending intuition with deep knowledge of trauma and its effects on the body, mind, and spirit.
What sets my practice apart is that I am able to co-create a level of connection and intimacy with my clients, that differs from the traditional talk therapy they may have experienced in the past. My coaching model provides my clients real time access to me via chat, when they need it, not just when we have a scheduled session.
I am selective about who I work with, paying close attention to who I align with on an intuitive and personal level, making sure that my style and background will lend well to their needs, enabling us to cultivate a working relationship that is built on trust and respect.
I’m most proud of the safe, compassionate space I’ve created where people feel seen and heard without judgement. My brand is built on the foundation of empathy, deep understanding, and the belief that healing past wounds is the key to cultivating loving, balanced relationships. I’ve walked the path of healing myself, which allows me to connect with clients in a very real and authentic way, providing insight that resonates with their own personal lived experiences.
What I want readers to know is that my services go beyond just improving relationships; they’re about transforming how you relate to yourself and others. I work with individuals to uncover and heal the root causes of their relationship challenges—whether it’s attachment issues, trust struggles, or patterns from past trauma. Together, we’ll rebuild a healthier relationship with yourself and those around you, unlocking deeper connection and life satisfaction.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is creating a space of authenticity, non-judgment, and acceptance as I believe that being authentic and showing up as we truly are is the foundation of growth and transformation. Non-judgment and acceptance allow people to feel safe and supported as they heal, without fear of shame or criticism. Love and encouragement are the fuel that help others believe in themselves and step into their potential. Ultimately, my goal is to help people feel seen, heard, and fully loved and accepted. When we do this, they can begin to explore what’s not working and what’s not in their lives, what may be creating lingering pain and limiting their growth. This safe space for exploration has to occur so we can peel back the layers and finally address the root cause. Once we do, we can begin to mend the wounds, allow them to heal properly and create lasting change, providing them the tools they need to build the life and relationships they deserve.
