Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristine Holm.
Hi Kristine, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Kristine Holm — Director of Operations, BOLD Real Estate
A native of New Jersey, Kristine brings well over 25 years of executive experience in real estate and mortgage to her role. She relocated to the Triangle in 2007 to take a VP position with a national lender and quickly fell in love with the area.
When it comes to understanding the Triangle real estate market, few bring as much experience and perspective as Kristine. Her background spans over two decades in real estate and mortgage management, including executive leadership roles with national firms.
She has served as Broker in Charge at both BOLD Real Estate and Governors Club Realty since 2016, while also advocating for professionalism and education across the broader real estate community as President of the Orange Chatham Association of REALTORS® (OCHAR).
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kristine is deeply rooted in giving back. She is a co-founder and board member of the BOLD Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting local underserved children. The Foundation supports the community through initiatives such as donating thousands of books for summer reading, providing school supply backpacks, and running the signature “Holiday Cheer” program, committed to ensuring every child experiences a joyous holiday season.
Kristine has reflected on the Foundation’s mission: “Through the BOLD Foundation, we are able to give back to the community that has given us so much. Whether it’s supporting local schools, funding community projects, or helping local charities, our goal is to make a lasting, positive impact.”
Outside of work, Kristine cherishes time with her family and enjoys live music. Her extensive professional roles and deep community involvement underscore her commitment to both her industry and philanthropy.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Wearing many hats simultaneously, Kristine leads BOLD Real Estate and Governors Club Realty as Broker-in-Charge, serves as President of the Orange Chatham Association of REALTORS®, and is a co-founder and board member of the BOLD Foundation, all at once. That’s a significant juggling act that naturally speaks to time demands. Managing multiple roles, whether in real estate operations or nonprofit work, comes down to being ruthless about priorities. I protect the time that only I can fill, lean on my team for everything else and let purpose be my filter. When you’re clear on why the work matters, whether it’s getting a family into their dream home or making sure a child has a gift under the tree on Christmas morning, it’s a lot easier to decide what deserves your attention and what can wait.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
What should we know?
BOLD Real Estate and Governors Club Realty are two boutique luxury firms rooted in Chapel Hill and Chatham County, backed by over 25 years of local expertise and more than $1.5 billion in sales with hundreds of years of combined experience. We are not a big box brokerage, we are intentional, selective, and deeply invested in this community while being powered by a global leader. Every agent and staff member on our team was chosen for their experience, their character, and their commitment to delivering an exceptional client experience.
What do you do, what do you specialize in / what are you known for?
We specialize in luxury residential real estate across Chapel Hill and the surrounding Triangle. We are known for results, our agents sell four times more homes than the average Triangle REALTOR® and our listings in Chatham County sold for 48% above the county-wide average in 2025. We are also known for the relationships we build. Clients come back to us not just because we close deals, but because we make the process feel personal while delivering concierge level service.
What sets you apart from others?
Our boutique model is our greatest advantage. We only hire seasoned agents, which means every client gets a true expert, not someone learning on the job with your most valuable asset. We combine that talent with the reach and resources of eXp Luxury, giving our clients both the intimacy of a local firm and the power of a national network. Add in 14 years of average agent experience, led by a 25+ year seasoned industry veteran and you have a team that is simply hard to compete with.
What are you most proud of brand wise?
I am most proud of the trust this brand has earned. BOLD and Governors Club Realty are names that mean something in this market. When a client chooses us, they are choosing a reputation built over decades, one transaction, one relationship, one community investment at a time. That is not something you can manufacture overnight, and we do not take it lightly.
What do you want readers to know about your brand, offerings, and services?
We want people to know that when you work with BOLD or Governors Club Realty, you are getting a full-service experience from start to finish. From expert pricing strategy and home staging guidance to fierce negotiation and seamless closings, we handle everything so you do not have to. And beyond the transaction, a portion of every sale supports the BOLD Foundation, which means choosing us also means investing in the underserved children of Chatham County. When you win with us, the community wins too.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
A few books I keep coming back to. We’re Gonna Need Cake by Valerie Garcia is one I recommend to anyone in real estate leadership, it is honest about the messiness of this business and reminds you that leading with kindness and authenticity is a strength, not a weakness. Executive Toughness by Jason Selk is my go-to when I need to sharpen my mental game, managing two firms, a nonprofit board and a team of agents requires a level of focus and resilience that does not happen by accident. Failing Forward by John Maxwell is a constant reminder that every setback is a setup, I have leaned on that one more than once over the years. And The Go-Giver by Bob Burg completely shifted how I think about success, when you lead with generosity, in business and in the community, it comes back tenfold. That philosophy is honestly at the heart of everything we do at BOLD and through the Foundation.”
