L. Diane, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I originally started as an author and then realized I wanted to start my own publishing company and publish other authors. Dancing Lemur Press, LLC was founded in 2008 and we have over 80 titles now.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running a publishing company has a sharp learning curve and I studied the industry in depth before I began. Marketing is always a challenge and sometimes there are difficult authors.

How do you think about luck?
Good luck is signing that one book that really takes off. Bad luck is the shifting industry and flaky authors.
