Hi Luciana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to the United States from Brazil 12 years ago with the goal of building a better future for myself and my family. Two years later, I founded Top To Bottom House Cleaning, and what started as a small business has continued to grow year after year.
Over the past 10 years, we have expanded into residential, commercial, and janitorial services, and we are proud to serve both private clients and federal and state projects. Through hard work, consistency, and a commitment to providing excellent service, we have built a strong and successful company.
Today, we are entering an exciting new chapter by expanding Top To Bottom through franchising. Seeing something I started from the ground up grow into a business that can now create opportunities for other entrepreneurs is one of my proudest accomplishments. My journey has taught me that with determination, strong values, and a willingness to keep growing, there really are no limits to what you can build.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not always been a smooth road. Building a business from the ground up came with many challenges, especially as an immigrant starting a new life in the United States. I had to learn the market, build trust with customers, find and retain good employees, and manage the everyday challenges that come with growing a service business.
As the company grew, I also had to learn how to delegate, build strong teams, maintain consistent quality, and expand without losing the standards and values that made us successful in the first place. There were difficult moments, but every challenge taught me something and made me a stronger business owner.
Today, seeing the company continue to grow, expand into franchising, and serve residential, commercial, state, and federal clients makes those challenges worth it. I’ve learned that perseverance, adaptability, and never being afraid of hard work are a huge part of entrepreneurship.

What I like best about Raleigh is the strong sense of community and the opportunities the city offers for both families and businesses. Raleigh continues to grow while still maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, beautiful neighborhoods, great restaurants, parks, and a high quality of life. As a business owner, I especially appreciate the entrepreneurial spirit and the support for local businesses.
What I like least is probably the traffic that has come with the city’s rapid growth. However, I see that growth as a positive sign overall it means more people are recognizing Raleigh as a great place to live, work, and build a business.
