Hidden Gems: Meet Marcie Trivette of Sweet T Picnics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcie Trivette.

Hi Marcie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Like many others, the year 2020 taught me a lot, including what is most important in life. At the beginning of the pandemic, I was spending countless hours in front of my laptop working away from home for a corporate job that was sucking the joy out of my life. I missed spending time with my family and friends.

In 2021, after realizing how precious our time really is, I decided to step away from my corporate position and create a picnic business that would allow me to curate spaces in which people could capture the joy of togetherness again. Sweet T Picnics was born out of the idea of spending precious moments with the ones who mean the most to you while making sweet memories together.

My goal is to keep southern hospitality in every aspect of Sweet T Picnics. We exclusively partner with local artisans to support our community, and each month we give back to a local non-profit organization that assists those around us. Our mission: Be sweeter than the tea we drink!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have had the sweetest start! We have been so blessed in every aspect. Our vendors are phenomenal, and our clients are so gracious and kind. Raleigh is truly unlike any other city. The people here in Oak City are what really makes our luxury picnic company so sweet.

I thought starting Sweet T Picnics in October would be difficult being that we would be entering the winter months. However, with our Winter Igloo Picnic, we have stayed consistently booked, and there are no signs of it slowing down!

At Sweet T Picnics, we curate customized luxury picnics for you and your guests. This includes amazing décor, gorgeous table settings, picnic baskets, plush pillows, and soft blankets, and so much more. Our team designs and sets up a one-of-a-kind picnic just for you. When you’re finished, we come and clean up everything! It’s a hassle-free way to celebrate any occasion.

Several things set Sweet T Picnics apart from any other luxury picnic business. We are the only luxury picnic company in the world where you can reserve a picnic next to a WWII plane while watching aircraft take off and land during your picnic experience. This signature package is called the “Plane ol’ Picnic.”

Also, unlike many other luxury picnic experiences, our picnics come with food and beverages included! We stick true to our southern roots and never leave you hungry, but always wanting to come back.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Sweet T Picnics was founded by a true native North Carolinian. You will find sweet things from North Carolina sprinkled throughout each Sweet T Picnics experience. I represented the state of North Carolina at the Miss United States in 2017, and the people of this state were so supportive of me. I knew when I stepped onto that stage that I represented the sweetest state in this country!

Now, through this picnic business, I feel as though this is my way to give back to a state that has given so much to me.
