Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus King F.A.M.E Legette.
Hi Marcus King, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up in a musical household, I started playing drums at the age of 3, singing in choirs by 5, the same year I secured my first professional .modeling job and simultaneously adding saxophone to my repoitiore by the time I was 9, coincidentally the same year I started my entrepreneurial journey. I started a mobil art store. I would draw marvel characters and sell the pictures door to door. By the age of 11 I was reading and writing music and already begining to write my own original music. I continued to play in school bands throughout middle and highschool in Georgia until my mother died when I was 15. Forcing me to move to East Durham, nc permanently with my grandmother. At 16 I started attending Christian faith center academy where I sung in the gospel choir and played saxophone along side herman pnut Johnson, (who became my first producer) musical coordinator for Monica and drummer for Tamar Braxton and A.J. Brown base guitar player for TD Jakes. My 18 I started self producing my own mixtapes with he help of DJ bro rabb (DJ for kid & Play) and dj Skazz digga ( DJ for big Daddy kane) eventually working with Grammy award winning producers Magneto 7, j white did it (Cardi B, Doechii, Saweeti, and more) while diversifying my career into songwriting, producing, & acting , working with everyone from ,will Smith , to Ryan Gosling. In 2016 I became operations officer for one of the biggest independent labels in the carolinas while working with Gucci mane, Kareem Biggs burke, money bag yo, Boosie Bad Ass, and more eventually leading to additional business ventures, including by not limited to ,construction ,logistics, real estate , night clubs, consulting, business development, management , event promotions, and now finance.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Things were rough from the beginning growing up in a broken home to a teenage mother, dealing with the pitfalls of Street life, and the overall volatility of business. Hitting rock bottom on numerous occasions and having to bounce back.
As you know, we’re big fans of Legette Enterprises . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Legette Enterprises is a consultation, business development, and management for firm that houses multiple subsidiary companies that range through multiple industries from construction to entertainment. The brands consist of Groundbreaking Entertainment , Groundbreaking Music Group, Legette Athletics, Groundbreaking construction, turnkey solutions global, Black Berkshire holdings. Our services range from construction management , construction supplies, financial services , music and event production and management ,to business management to name a few.
