Hidden Gems: Meet Nika Howard of EverGlow Candle Company

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nika Howard.

Hi Nika, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Like any good story, it started with a bang! Well, a pop, followed by a crack and then a bang! I love filling my home with different scents from room to room, but after an exploding experience I decided to do a little research and I learned about different types of candle wax and the potential for harmful toxins. It never occurred to me that I could be burning harmful chemicals in my home. I learned that Coconut Wax is the only true 100% clean-burning and Eco-Sustainable wax on the market and so our story began…

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We started in the Winter of 2019 and were hit by the Pandemic a few short months later. This created unprecedented challenges to health and safety worldwide and deeply impacted EverGlow with material shortages on glass and wicks.

We’ve been impressed with EverGlow Candle Company, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We specialize in an all-natural coconut wax blend. Coconut wax is known for its amazing scent throw, slow burn, and ability to beautiful bond to color. We use eco-friendly dyes and fragrance oils. All of my candles are hand-poured in Raleigh, NC.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Adventurer + Curious + Leader + Determined + Competitive + Athletic

I’ve always been extremely driven and an exceptional student. My drive as a child carried into my adolescence where I was president and founder of multiple on-campus organizations and furthered my creative side and learned a love for working with my hands through sculpting and pottery, which has now transferred into my candle art.
