Today we’d like to introduce you to Santana Ridgell-Bomar
Hi Santana, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I realized I had an interest in beauty after coming back from deployment while in the Navy. I was able to pursue that interest even further once my Navy enlistment was done. I attended Bellus Academy in San Diego, Ca. I am so grateful for the esthetic and makeup artistry instructors at Bellus Academy because their enthusiasm for skin was contagious which inspired me to follow this path even more.
After completing my education, I honed my skills at Anastasia Beverly Hills while also freelancing as a makeup artist, working on high-fashion photoshoots, weddings, and exclusive special events. Over the years, I kept growing in the industry by working with brands like Bare Minerals, Chanel, and Christian Dior, while also getting hands-on experience in independently owned spas and salons. Those experiences really helped me refine my skills and deepen my passion for skincare.
I eventually got married and had a son, which made me rethink my place in the industry. That shift led me to start my own business in 2019, a space where I could share my creativity, love, and passion for esthetics while helping people on their journey to healthy skin.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped shape me into the business owner I am today. I didn’t grow up around entrepreneurs, so when I started my business, I had to figure everything out on my own. How to manage finances, understand my clients’ needs, and build a brand from the ground up just to name a few.
On top of that, I was also balancing motherhood and pursuing my bachelor’s degree in business administration. There were times when it felt overwhelming. Figuring out how to balance my schedule, late-night study sessions, and still trying to show up as a mom and a wife. All of those experiences taught me resilience, time management, and the importance of staying disciplined.
It’s been a journey of trial and error, but I wouldn’t change it. Every challenge has helped me grow, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come.
We’ve been impressed with Lucid Skin + Beauty Boutique, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Lucid Skin + Beauty Boutique is more than just a skincare studio, it’s a space that I have dedicated to corrective skincare and long-term skin health. I specialize in pigmentation and texture concerns, helping clients achieve smoother, healthier, and more even-toned skin through advanced treatments.
What sets me apart is my results-driven approach and my commitment to education, science-backed treatments, and customized treatments. I don’t believe in quick fixes or protocols. My focus on transforming the skin from within and giving my clients the tools to maintain their results.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Initially, I wanted to become a pastry chef or a forensic psychologist! Life took me in a different direction and I couldn’t be happier!
