Hi Selena, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a 26-year-old wife and mother of two girls, Lehani T. Kehleay & Melanie Soriah Kehleay. I’ve always been passionate about the beauty industry. After graduating from high school in 2015, I pursued my dreams by attending Cosmetology School in 2016. The following year, I obtained my cosmetology license and started my own hair business. However, my interests soon shifted towards branding and marketing, leading me to rebrand my business as The Branding Boss, LLC.
I am currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in business administration with a major in marketing; I am committed to providing personalized services that cater to each client’s unique needs. As a graphic designer, I understand that every business requires a customized branding strategy to achieve its goals and attract more clients. With this in mind, I work closely with my clients to understand their values, objectives, and target audience. This approach enables me to create a unique branding solution for each client, allowing them to stand out in a crowded marketplace.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all! I discovered I was pregnant with my second child in August 2022, with the delivery scheduled for February 13th. However, things took a tragic turn, and Melanie Soriah Kehleay was born prematurely on December 31st, 2022. After being in NICU for a while, and just coming home for the first time, unfortunately, she passed away on January 20th, 2023, which left our family devastated and heartbroken. That is why I added the heart and wings in my logo, simply reminding me that she is with me in all that I do.
My story is one of resilience, passion, and dedication. My journey is a testament to the fact that life may not always go as planned, but I can overcome any challenge with GOD, determination, my family, and love.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I would have to say the two people in my life that deserve the most credit are my husband and my best friend. My husband has always believed in anything that I’ve ever wanted to do. Anything that I need, such as supplies or new equipment, he’s on it! A lot of people like to share all the good things about owning a business but never the ugly parts about having a business, and on those days that I just sit in frustration my husband is always there to comfort me and just let me know that I’m doing great and to keep going. As for my best friend, she is amazing! Our friendship actually started off as business, and now we are business partners, best friends, and sisters. She is always giving me new business ideas or even trying to help me improve things that I already have going. She motivates me to do my best every day as I do the same.
