Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us how you got started?
Originally from New York, I moved to Puerto Rico as a young toddler, where I learned to embrace the islands’ cultural life and traditions. In those early days, I developed a strong interest in the wonders of herbal remedies and cures. I have vivid memories of the many natural remedies my parents, grandparents, and neighbors used for common colds or everyday minor conditions. My health started to fail in my adult life as I struggled with gut issues and autoimmune disease and faced a toxic medical condition that nearly destroyed my life and could not be solved by conventional western medicine. I desperately took back control of my health. I began to seek alternative treatment to find the root cause of my illness. I researched and read endless stories that inspired and motivated me to seek naturopathic treatment.

After a year of treatment with nutritional supplements, herbal diet therapy, and energy work, my body responded. It was clear to me that the body only needs to be reminded of its healing power to restore itself to health. This ignited me to study all things holistic. Natural mind and body care became my new life path.

My healing has fueled my passion for promoting wellness by identifying the unique aspects of each client. Introducing non-toxic, natural therapies to restore mental, emotional, and structural balance is imperative. The body has an inherent ability to maintain and restore health. I believe that honest practitioner-client communication encourages each individual to make informed decisions to facilitate healing, remove obstacles to cure, and identify treatments to enhance healing. It is more effective to teach than to treat.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a smooth road?
I would have to say that the general public is still largely suspicious of alternative healing methods. And that fact the insurance won’t cover them. As you know, we’re big fans of Salud natural wellness center Inc. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?

We are a bilingual wellness center that Specializes in holistic therapies. I am a naturopathic practitioner as well as an Iridologist. We use many modalities to bring clients back to their natural state. I am glad to be able to help the Hispanic community as there are no other Spanish-speaking Holistic centers in the local area. We want all to know that our health is our true wealth and to attain it. We must treat the body and mind, and soul as one to have true inner harmony.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role you feel it’s played for you.
I would say that getting an autoimmune diagnosis made me want to understand why my body would attack itself. Once I started to heal with lifestyle changes and did lots of holistic therapies as I began to get better, this lighted my passion for natural healing. It depends on who looks at it. Some say this was bad luck; I say it was luck!
