Hi Tawana, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am a Realtor with 8 years of experience who finally took the leap to begin my own brokerage firm in 2023, Tawana Rice Realty LLC. I am purpose driven. I travel the state of North Carolina assisting families with obtaining homeownership and establishing future wealth. I ‘m often called, “The Traveling Realtor”. My clientele is built organically through trust, hard work and closing results.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There were numerous challenges faced as a solo venture when launching the firm. However, I’ve learned to create innovative ways with balancing the new firm’s needs that included meeting deadlines, training, brand development, structuring, and much more! Throughout the years, I’ve always maintained a large volume of clientele which require a high amount of attention; and I found it difficult to prioritize the firm’s administrative and marketing needs between these.
I’ve worked as a sole individual for many years. However, launching this new firm has taught me to embrace the support and resources that are available in the industry. I had to restructure a plan that would allow me to incorporate new responsibilities into my travel schedule; while keeping swift and timely with maintaining the ongoing success I had already developed.
I am now even more eager to explore higher levels of Real Estate.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Never give up on what you’re passionate to achieve in entrepreneurship. Embrace the challenges you may face while keeping focused on your dreams. Check into resources that are available to you. Set the vision before you daily as a reminder of your purpose. Always keep your great integrity and faith… The biggest blessings come from your most difficult challenges as it helps to develop a better character and overall resilience.
