Hidden Gems: Meet Timothy Miller of After Lunch Podcast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Timothy Miller.

Hi Timothy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My name is Tim Miller, I am a highly motivated young entrepreneur, manager, creative, event coordinator, executive producer, live production technician, life insurance agent/ financial service provider, and more.

Born November 2, 1998, and the youngest of 9 siblings to Bruce and Angela Miller. From Wilmington, NC graduated from Laney HS in 2017. Went to Allen University for one year on an athletic scholarship and left school to live with my parents for a year before relocating to Durham, NC to start doing everything I am doing now. I have lived in Durham for almost 3 years.

Live Event Production is what got me in numerous doors when relocating to the RDU area, I partnered with a production company out of Durham, NC to provide numerous types of events with top tier lighting,staging,audio, video-wall etc. during this partnership we did a 13 city tour with “DTLR” for the “CIAA” from Lancaster PA back down to the Raleigh area in which included billboard caliber artists.

This tour helped me to realize the attainability of what numerous artists long for and how networking and connecting can make your journey an easier one.

Covid-19 rerouted me in a way that was at initially uncomfortable because i now did not have shows to do which also means I am not making the same funds. I then had to change my direction up slightly but still of course behind the scenes. I then began to figure out ways to give artists exposure and help them expand their network within the urban music community while finding ways to monetize from it.

Managing talent is something I have been doing for an extended period of time now for 3 urban music artists from various cities within NC. (JumpmanSix from Wilmington, ShmoneyMo from Charlotte, and Lil Messi from Durham). Brand/Artist Consultations is offered as a service from me which is currently at the rate of $50/hr and held downtown Durham in a private office space.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Inconsistency in business relationships, Covid-19 putting a cold stop on public events.
