Hidden Gems: Meet Zaid Steele of Who Can Rap On That Beat

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zaid Steele.

Hi Zaid, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I started my business in October 2020. As a young girl, I’ve always been into music. When I was in grade school by playing the piano, guitar, violin, cello, viola, and some other instruments. I also started writing my songs at a young age. (Early this year I came out to my music artist. My stage name is ZPEEZE.)

My business has really brought a lot of positive and wonderful elements for me. I feel that my business is in a great space. It’s helping people in our community and it gives people something they can always count on.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not always been smooth. The only reason it hasn’t been smooth is that artists are not good at communicating.

Sometimes that could be hard, but I am very being at communicating. I also have to realize that people have their own lives.

Most artists that I am working with, there in the same stages as me. Which is trying to build themselves and also knowing that there are a lot of personal and priority things that will have to come first.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
One thing you should know about “Who Can Rap On That Beat” (I do copy right all this) is a platform where I introduce artists to new genre beats. I want artists to explore all types of music. Music is art, and as an artist, you don’t have to stay stagnant. Artists like me have to let their minds explore. I feel it’s important to explore new things so that way I can grow.

I specialize in being Ms. CEO. (That’s what my followers and friends call me). Since I am the creator of all my projects. What sets me apart from others is that I built my business from the ground up by myself. I am most proud of myself that I’ve come so far. I love meeting so many wonderful people and artists, that love what I do. I want the readers to know that I do this for the culture.

I do this because music is the number one thing that brings us all together.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
When you’re starting a business it’s important to have everything together. The organization is very important.

Building your connections in local areas. If you’re building a business that involves people. Always go out and find the people.

Don’t be afraid to talk because you never know who you may run into. Stepping out of my comfort zone has helped me in so many ways. Which is going to different showcases, setting up meetings, and learning from people that are in the same boat as me.
