Inspiring Conversations with Alesia Dawson of The Rough Diamond Empire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alesia Dawson.

Hi Alesia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have always believed some of the most valuable things aren’t discovered on the surface. They’re uncovered through pressure, perseverance and growth.
Professionally, I built my career in communications and brand strategy. I’ve always been drawn to helping people recognize their potential and build something meaningful from their experiences. All while giving them the push they need to soar.
Like others, my journey hasn’t been a straight line. I have been through financial setbacks, moments of uncentainty and seasons where I questioned what was next. Those moments taught me resilience, strengthened my faith and reminded me that challenges refine us.
I assumed I couldn’t be alone in this fight. My experiences inspired me to create The Rough Diamond Empire. More than just a brand, it’s a movement built on a mission to intentionally refine passion and purpose. We have grown to initiatives like The Good Vibes Soulcial Hour, an experience that create spaces for people to have authentic conversations, build genuine relationships and leave feeling more confident, connected and inspired than when they came.

Today we are still growing, still learning and still being refined. That’s the beauty of the journey. No one is a finished product, we are all diamonds in the making. We are all ROUGH DIAMONDS!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not, Rough Diamond has literally been the roughest diamond. I have always wondered how can I help people discover their diamond, if I don’t live through the rough.

There has been seasons where I questioned everything. From career to my purpose, to whether or not this was meant to be a thing. I have experienced setbacks financially, disappointments professionally, and moments where doors I thought would open stayed shut. There were times I felt like I was putting in the work without seeing the results.

One of the biggest struggles is getting beyond my own limitations. I would focus on the attendance numbers, the social media analytics, no return on investment or the external success. If the results didn’t match the potential I saw in Rough Diamond then I would overwhelm myself with self doubt.

I have seen a lot of external struggles that comes with the business. I am putting a lot more out than I am receiving. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Rough Diamonds aren’t formed without pressure.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Rough Diamond Empire. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At my core, I am a community builder and brand strategist. I help people and organizations, discover who they are, communicate their value and create meaningful connections. My professional journey has been rooted in communications, brand strategy, marketing and customer service. The common denominator throughout my career has always been people.

Through my professional career I discovered people want to feel heard valued and understood. My career taught me how to listen, solve problems, build trust and create meaningful experiences.

What I am most proud of is the impact. Early I spoke on the external struggles. However, The impact The Rough Diamond Empire has made far exceeds any struggle I have seen. Watching a vision turn into something that positively impact peoples lives is one of my greatest accomplishments.

What sets me apart is the combination of strategy and heart. I understand branding and business, but behind every brand is a person and behind every person is a story. I build relationships, create experiences and help people see their own value.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
The book that changed it all for me was The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Another book being Atomic Habits by James Clear. That helped me think differently about consistency and discipline and how small actions compound over time.

I loveee listening to podcasts and YouTube conversations centered around faith, personal development, leadership, and mental health. Learning from people who have overcome challenges while fulfilling their purpose and creating impact. From podcast like the Secret to Success by Eric Thomas to Healed Girl Era by Gia Peppers.

My biggest resource to staying connected to my purpose is prayer, reflection, intentional conversations.
