Inspiring Conversations with Alysia Vargas of Pleasantly Captured Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alysia Vargas.

Hi Alysia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
As a child, I enjoyed looking at photographs. I have always appreciated how images could tell stories and evoke so many different emotions. I was always more intrigued by the images in books rather than the words on the paper.

I started my journey in photography over 10 years ago by accident, and everything has changed since. A few months into my photography, I fell in love with maternity, newborns, and children. Although photography had always interested me on a hobby level, it wasn’t until I started crocheting newborn props that my interest peaked on a professional level.

Since this “accident,” I haven’t looked back! I knew early in my career I wanted to specialize in maternity and newborn photography. Since I have dedicated myself and my business to knowing bellies and babies to ensure my clients have the best possible experience and product.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been an easy road, but I have persevered! Being a military spouse, things can be rougher when figuring out and trying to maintain a career/business.

We’ve been impressed with Pleasantly Captured Photography, LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Pleasantly Captured Photography is a small photography studio that specializes in maternity, newborn, and baby portraiture. I am known for my gorgeous maternity images, timeless newborn images, fun, and colorful cake smash sessions.

I am most proud of the experience that I can offer my families, by carrying a full line of maternity and newborn clothing, as well as props. I am most proud of my studio which offers a comfortable and relaxing environment while having your photos done.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I grew up on the coast of California and my fondest memory was the beach!
