Hi Anthony, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
WeGo Golf was founded on the belief that golf should be accessible to everyone, especially underrepresented youth.
Our commitment to community was immediately put into action at our first event, held at a Boys and Girls facility in Wake County, North Carolina. From that moment, we shared our story and vision, which led to multiple new corporate clients. This pivotal experience reinforced the importance of equitable access to golf and solidified our dedication to partnering with organizations that serve all, including the youth. As WeGo Golf expands, we remain focused on our core goal: making golf inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable for all.
Today, WeGo Golf offers premium golf experiences directly to corporations, private events, schools, community centers, and other organizations. Premium experiences are foundational to our service offerings. We have been fortunate to double revenue year-over-year for the last 3 years. So, it is very exciting.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have started multiple businesses in the past, and none (including this one) had a smooth road. There have certainly been bumps in the road.
One major obstacle was rapidly developing equipment and tech that looks good and is operationally optimal. Our core competitors use trailers, and we were intentionally avoiding the trailer approach. So, we needed to develop a new setup. Our setup today is the 8th iteration of equipment. So, it is safe to say, we are battle tested.
Another major obstacle was we originally outsourced our lead generation. And unfortunately that came back to bite us. We learned very quickly, we needed to bring this function in house. That took some time to build the systems, and get them warmed up. That was a very challenging time period for our business. But, we persevered.
We’ve been impressed with WeGo Golf, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
WeGo Golf is on a mission to make golf accessible to everyone, especially underrepresented youth populations. We achieve this by breaking down barriers to entry for the game. Golf can be intimidating for many first timers. Players must consider dress codes, costs, and not to mention the sport is really challenging. So we specialize in providing a fun, engaging, and welcoming introduction to the game, through unique golf experiences.
What truly sets us apart is our unwavering commitment to community impact and our ability to bring the golf course to you, wherever you are. We are in tailgates, sporting events, weddings, schools, venues, team building, and more. We even host our own special events for the public.
We want your readers to know that WeGo Golf isn’t just about playing golf; it’s about inspiring the next generation and creating meaningful opportunities for all people to experience the game in a supportive environment. Our goal is to make golf more inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable for all, cultivating a lifelong love for the sport.
Our brand “We Go” is intentionally inclusive and inviting. So we aim to support events with large audiences. We offer tailored golf tournaments, competitions and sessions. Each of our offerings are accompanied by first party data collection services.
Any big plans?
At WeGo Golf, we’re incredibly excited about what the future holds as we continue to expand our reach and deepen our impact. Our primary focus is on strategic growth, bringing our unique golf experiences to even more communities and corporate organizations. We’re actively planning to broaden our partnerships with top golf brands, schools, institutions, and youth organizations.
National expansion is our current focus to accommodate increased demand and expansive markets. We’re also exploring opportunities to develop curriculum enhancements that further integrate life skills education with golf instruction, making our program even more valuable for personal development. Ultimately, we envision WeGo Golf becoming a nationwide force for good, fundamentally changing how people access and engage with golf. We’re looking forward to building a future where golf truly is for everyone.
