Today we’d like to introduce you to Anthony Garnes.
Hi Anthony, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a young kid growing up in New York, I was exposed to a lot of diverse cultures, which included their music too. At an early age, I appreciated music for what it was, and that’s bringing people together. That experience naturally allowed me to gravitate towards the DJ profession. I was introduced to DJing by a friend who had been DJing for a few years. I visited him one day while he was practicing, and the rest is history.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I can honestly say the I’ve a smooth Djing career, but did pivot my business to the private sector about a decade ago. I built my brand and style of Djing from doing college and club parties. But as time goes on so does life and with that change. I have a beautiful family with a wife and 3 kids now. The club/college DJ for me wasn’t something I wanted to do anymore as a father & husband.
As you know, we’re big fans of Harlem Events. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Harlem Events caters towards the private events industry, we offer DJing, Photo Booth, Lighting and dance floors. Clients book me and my staff DJs because they have club DJ experience, but also can meet the professional standard of formal/private events like weddings and corporate events.
As an Army combat vet, I’m detail-focused. At Harlem Events, we make sure we understand our clients’ needs so we can exceed their expectations.

I am currently pursuing a doctorate in Educational Leadership. College access has always been near and dear to me. As a first-generation college graduate, I spend my time during the week supervising college recruiters and developing programming that helps them make informed decisions about training and educational pathways that support their dreams.
