Today we’d like to introduce you to Bob Snead.
Hi Bob, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was speaking to my friend one day, who owned The Dancing Moon Earthway Bookstore, and she said she was
going to sell the store and move. I heard a voice say “buy the Moon”and although I wasn’t sure how it would work out,
it did. Karen, my wife, and I bought it in 1998 and have loved running it ever since. My daughter Jessi and her Husband Chris now run the store and we help out behind the scenes. It has been an absolute joy to be in the store and talk
with folks about their life and the stories that brought them here
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road, We have managed to weather several hard economic times. Helene was a
terrible event, which we and our neighbors are still recovering from. It was a tremendous strain to hang in there,
but we did. Some years the winter months hit us hard when it snows on the weekend, making it hard for folks to
get here. But the joy of being in Downtown Boone is simply awesome.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The Dancing Moon Earthway Bookstore was created and opened in Downtown Boone, NC in 1988. We strive to serve our community with Books, Tools and Gifts for all Spiritual Paths. No two paths are identical and we strive to honor
each one. It is a joy to speak with folks about their experiences along the way and share stories with them. It is a special joy when parents bring their children in to show them where they spent time finding themselves and exploring
various things. We offer everyone the opportunity to come in and sit and center themselves before heading back out into the world. To be able to offer information, opinions or suggestions to the many questions is rewarding, and makes
us proud to be of service. We always say “When in Boone….Drop by the Moon”
