Inspiring Conversations with Brooke Graves of Harvestmen Home Healthcare Agency

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Graves.

Brooke Graves

Hi Brooke, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Hello everyone, my name is Brooke Graves, but I am known around my community as Bee or Sweet Bee. I am a mother, minister, and entrepreneur. You know that saying, and I quote, “How you start is not how you have to finish” this is true for me. I started out as a teen runaway, pregnant high school dropout, single mother of two girls in and out of trouble with the law when I was younger, struggling and wondering how I was going to make it. I had to make a change.

Long story short, Yeshua Hamashiach had to put me through what we ministers understand as a pruning process, so he threw me in the wilderness. I had a lot of junk inside of me that needed to be dealt with; a character check is how I would like to put it. He begins to deliver me from past childhood trauma and wounds I carried within. God then began to deliver me out of religion and brought me into a relationship. When I started building my relationship with the Most High and confessing things that were in me that were not pleasing to him, you know, the secret counsel of my heart, my life did a whole 360-degree turn.

I received my Diploma and GED; I also graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business from Averett University, where I maintain a 3.5 GPA. One of the things that I can honestly say about myself is that I use my money wisely, and I do not live above my means. I bought a home at 29 years old and then opened my Home Healthcare Agency in the Danville Location and 3 years later in the Greensboro North Carolina Location.

Many have seen the Glory, but I am glad That Voyage Raleigh Magazine gave me a platform to tell my story, and I hope my story, which is my testimony, blesses the one that reads it.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road was never smooth for me. I always traveled the road on the rough side of the mountain and had to deal with much spiritual warfare in order to get to where I am today. The struggles along the way were not having the right support system in place, I had very few people in my life that actually wanted to see me win. Once I separated and came out from among those individuals, which Yeshua told me to do while I was in my wilderness, I started winning. Sometimes in life, you have to separate yourself from that which is familiar.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Harvestmen Home Healthcare Agency?
My business is a Home Healthcare Agency where we specialize in providing care to those with Physical as well as Psychiatric disabilities. We are also licensed Developmental Disability Providers in the state of Virginia. I am also a sponsor residential care provider outside of Harvestmen, and I have various experience in working with individuals with high-level psychosis which adds to my many talents I use for business. Harvestmen Home Healthcare Agency is known for the quality care my team and I provide. My agency has won two awards back-to-back for our exceptional service in 2022 and 2023.

Alright, so before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People often collaborate and work with me through networking as well as wanting me to come as a guest speaker at a particular leadership event because I am able to motivate you along with giving you a little rebuke along the way to put some pep in your step. I will not allow you to lay down and feel sorry for yourself, neither will I let you continue to walk in error. The Bible tells us that in a multitude of counselors, there is safety.

The greatest support that you can do is to put our agency out into the atmosphere, promote us, and be a multitude of counselors in our life. Put my name in the wind. I truly believe that my gift is making room for me in this season and that it is going to bring me before great men and women.
