Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolina Cruz.

Hi Carolina, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I saw how my parents struggled living paycheck to paycheck. I wanted to better myself, and make my parents proud. My personal readiness came from my family who pushed me to go for my dreams. My goal in life was to always help people, therefore, I took a 2yr massage program at Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, NC. I started my own business, Carolina’s Massage Therapy, less than a year ago after working for other massage therapy businesses for the previous five years. With a goal in mind and the drive to start a business on my own, I have overcame difficulties, such as self doubt, lack of resources, and cultural challenges for being a hispanic women owned business.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Lack of resources, funding, & not knowing anything about how to start and run a business

We’ve been impressed with Carolina’s Massage Therapy, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I specialize in Thai massage, and other modalities such as barefoot, or “back walking”, cupping, graston, prenatal, and postpartum massage. These different types of massage help with pain management, mobility, flexibility, and overall health and wellness. My motto is helping people eliminate pain without drugs, or surgery.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Yes, after covid-19 happened, I saw how it affected people’s mental health. More and more people started working from home which affected their posture, and wellness. Now more than ever people need to de-stress and seek therapy.
