Inspiring Conversations with Cedric Streeter of Kaos Records

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cedric Streeter.  

Hi Cedric, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was introduced to entrepreneurship through a longtime mentor, Jay Hamilton, in the entertainment industry. In December of 2004, I formed Kaos Records LLC as a way to be creative and artistic with music without inhibitions. 

Along the way, I had the honor of working with some of the most talentedly trained producers, vocalists, songwriters, and engineers. Unfortunately, none of those opportunities landed under contract with Kaos Records. In 2013, I released my debut Ep, Hustlers Haven, and enjoyed the process of sharing my first professional music experience with the world. 

I was living in South Ozone Park, NY, with my cousins after completing a divorce. I met my partner, Danyel Brown, and she encouraged me to search for employment opportunities in North Carolina. 

I moved and live in Cary, NC, with Danyel going on seven years. The move created a lot of inspiration for music, other business ventures, and my overall well-being. 

I always had a passion for helping people I encountered and had great conversations around life coaching. I reached out to my father, Dr. Arthur Streeter, who is a psychotherapist, and my late stepmother, Linda Streeter, who was a therapist for guidance and advice. 

In 2019, I offered life coaching services and started to gain clients. I wasn’t satisfied with simply helping people. In August of 2023, I wanted to take it a step further by training and educating myself and to become a certified life coach. 

Music and life coaching are therapy for me and could be for most people. When you participate in the process of life coaching and creating music, you are exploring and discovering new places within yourself and your surroundings to develop a sense of happiness and enjoyment. 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
One of the biggest struggles is leaving your past behind and becoming a new person. I have evolved into a more conscious and grounded person. I will not claim to be perfect, but I will claim that changing your lifestyle and mindset is in anyone’s control. 

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Kaos Records LLC?
Kaos Records LLC is an independent label, and we are currently working with R&B vocalist Sim Streeter. 

At Kaos, we create music, music videos, social media content, and performance opportunities to further the career and brand recognition of the artist. Music is created from an organic space, as we aim to offer a new sound and vibe for music lovers and the music industry at large. 

Currently, Sim is performing live at venues along the East Coast, and we are working to release his debut EP “Craftmaker of R&B.” Sim had his debut solo performance at Brooklyn Music Kitchen in Brooklyn, NY, along with members of the Sim Streeter Experience: Israel Arroyo – Congas & DJ Fanatic. 

Sim Streeter has a World Indie and Euro Indie charting single titled “Bring It Home,” and it is currently receiving radio airplay. We are excited about the inception of a tour in 2024.
