Inspiring Conversations with Crissy Fishbane And Cindi Michaelson of HER Health Collective

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crissy Fishbane And Cindi Michaelson

Hi Crissy Fishbane and Cindi Michaelson, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When we first met, we quickly discovered that despite being at different stages of motherhood, we were grappling with many of the same challenges. Crissy was navigating severe postpartum anxiety, while Cindi was battling the medical and school systems to secure the support her daughter needed. We both felt overwhelmed, exhausted, frustrated, and alone. Our shared struggles fostered an immediate bond and a deep appreciation for the rare understanding that comes from another mom who truly gets it.

Beyond our personal experiences, we connected over our backgrounds in wellness, having worked as personal trainers and health coaches. Through our careers, we had spoken with hundreds of moms and repeatedly saw a common theme—the postpartum experience was marked by a glaring gap in care. Too many women were navigating motherhood without the support they needed.

Determined to make a difference, we knew the system was failing mothers. Women were slipping through the cracks, left to piece together resources on their own without the village of support that once existed for previous generations. We saw an urgent need for real, meaningful support and set out to create a solution. From this vision, HER Health Collective was born.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It certainly hasn’t been a smooth road, but in many ways, the growth of HER Health Collective has felt almost destined—like it had a life of its own. The right people, community partners, professionals, experts and moms and their families seemed to find their way to our village at just the right time.

However, we did launch in January 2020, just months before the world shut down—an extremely tough challenge for a business built on connection, social support, and fun events.

With everyone stuck at home, we had to adapt quickly. We pivoted to hosting five virtual events every week in those early months, creating spaces for moms to connect despite the isolation. Our journey in that first year required constant reassessment and flexibility, but that was also part of the beauty. The evolution of HER Health Collective wasn’t just driven by us, the founders—it was shaped by the voices of our community. With a village of moms and experts offering insight into what was truly needed, our role was simply to listen and find ways to make the magic happen.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
HER Health Collective is more than just a community—it’s a movement dedicated to reshaping the way mothers are supported. We believe that motherhood was never meant to be navigated alone, yet so many moms find themselves isolated, overwhelmed, and without the village of support they truly need. That’s where we come in.

We specialize in fostering genuine connections and providing expert-backed resources that empower moms in every stage of their journey. Our private membership community, HER Circle, brings together moms who are craving real friendships, expert guidance, and a space where they feel seen and supported. Through 10+ monthly in-person and virtual gatherings, expert-led discussions, and curated resources, we help moms build their village and access the care they deserve.

What sets us apart is our unique approach—we bridge the gap between social support and expert care. With nearly 100 professionals in our network, including therapists, nutritionists, pelvic floor specialists, and other maternal health experts, we ensure that moms not only find connection with other moms and families, but also get the information and resources they need to thrive.

Brand-wise, we are most proud of the authenticity and impact of our work. HER Health Collective is built on heart and purpose, and that’s evident in the way our members show up for each other. It’s not just about providing resources—it’s about creating a space where moms feel truly supported, valued, and empowered.

For anyone looking to be part of a strong, compassionate community, we invite you to join us. Whether you’re a mom seeking connection or an expert passionate about supporting mothers, HER Health Collective is here to ensure that no woman has to navigate motherhood alone.

How do you think about luck?
Luck—both good and bad—has undoubtedly played a role in our journey with HER Health Collective. Launching in January 2020, just before the world shut down, could easily be seen as bad luck. Our entire business was built on the idea of connection and social support, which became incredibly difficult when in-person gatherings were no longer possible. However, that challenge forced us to pivot quickly, and in doing so, we discovered new, creative ways to foster community. In many ways, the adversity strengthened our mission and solidified the importance of the work we were doing.

At the same time, we’ve experienced moments of what feels like incredible good luck—the right people, the perfect partnerships, and the most aligned opportunities have seemed to appear at just the right time. But when we look closer, it’s not just luck; it’s a testament to the power of showing up with authenticity, listening to our community, and building something with heart and purpose. HER Health Collective has attracted the people who believe in this mission because we’ve stayed true to it.

So while luck has played a role, we believe success is more about resilience, adaptability, and an openness to the opportunities that present themselves—whether they come disguised as challenges or as unexpected blessings.
