Today we’d like to introduce you to Kim Weaver.
Hi Kim, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
People sometimes think I just decided one day to get into real estate, but my path has been anything but traditional.
I left a successful corporate career to pursue real estate, but about six months later my former company came back with an opportunity that seemed too good to pass up. I returned, only to realize the reasons I had left hadn’t changed. I stayed a few more years, but eventually I knew I had to make a different choice.
I walked away from a six-figure career and took a $16-an-hour administrative job. To a lot of people, that probably looked like a step backward. For me, it was exactly what I needed. It gave me the stability, breathing room, and mental space to figure out what I truly wanted to build.
During that time, I started a side business that eventually grew into a six-figure company. I ran it for five years, including three years full time. It taught me so much about business, marketing, and serving clients. But I also realized something important. I had built myself a job, not a scalable business. Reading *The E-Myth Revisited* completely changed the way I viewed entrepreneurship. It helped me understand the difference between being self-employed and building a business that can grow beyond you.
That’s what led me back to real estate.
Real estate gives me everything I was looking for. It allows me to serve people during some of the biggest moments of their lives, build a business that can grow, create multiple streams of income through sales and investing, and ultimately build something with long-term value.
Every step of my journey taught me something. None of it was wasted. It simply led me back to where I was always meant to be.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped where I am today.
I left a six-figure corporate career thinking I had everything figured out, only to realize I wanted something more meaningful and something I could truly build for myself. At one point, I even took a $16-an-hour administrative job just to create stability while I figured out my next step. It was humbling, but it gave me the breathing room to build a side business that eventually grew into a six-figure company.
Even then, I realized that owning a successful business didn’t necessarily mean I had the freedom I was looking for. After reading *The E-Myth Revisited*, I recognized that my business depended too much on me and wasn’t truly scalable. That realization led me back to real estate.
Starting over in real estate wasn’t easy. Building relationships, earning trust, and growing a business from the ground up takes time, patience, and consistency. But I knew I was building something that aligned with my long-term vision, not just helping people buy and sell homes, but creating opportunities through investing and building multiple streams of income.
Looking back, every detour taught me something valuable. Those experiences made me more resilient, more empathetic, and better equipped to guide my clients through one of the biggest financial decisions they’ll ever make.
As you know, we’re big fans of Kim Weaver NC Triad REALTOR® | Howard Hanna Allen Tate. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At the heart of my business is one simple goal: to be a trusted advisor, not just a salesperson.
I’m a REALTOR® with Howard Hanna Allen Tate, serving buyers, sellers, and investors throughout the North Carolina Triad. While I certainly help people buy and sell homes, I see my role as much bigger than simply opening doors or putting a sign in the yard. My job is to educate, guide, negotiate, and help my clients make confident financial decisions.
I work with everyone from first-time homebuyers to luxury sellers, but I have a special passion for helping people build long-term wealth through real estate. Whether that’s purchasing a first home, downsizing into a new chapter, or investing in rental properties, I love helping clients see the opportunities real estate can create.
One thing that sets me apart is my commitment to education. I believe informed clients make better decisions, so I spend a lot of time creating videos, guides, and resources that simplify what can often feel like an overwhelming process. I never want my clients to feel pressured. I want them to feel prepared.
Another thing that’s important to me is building relationships that last well beyond closing day. Many agents focus solely on the transaction. I focus on becoming a long-term resource. Whether someone needs a contractor recommendation, wants to understand the market years after buying, or is considering their next investment, I want to be the first person they think to call.
I’m also proud to be a Homes for Heroes affiliate, giving back to the military, veterans, healthcare professionals, teachers, first responders, and others who serve our communities every day. Being able to help those who spend their lives helping others is one of the most meaningful parts of what I do.
Ultimately, I want my brand to be known for integrity, education, and genuine care. Real estate is about so much more than buying or selling a house. It’s about helping people create the life they want, and I’m grateful to play a small part in that journey.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Outside of real estate, you’ll usually find me submersed in nature, whether that’s out on my morning walk, enjoying the quiet before the day begins or winding the day down on my porch, listening to the birds. That time outdoors has become a non-negotiable part of my routine because it helps me show up as the best version of myself for my family, my clients, and my community.
I’m also someone who’s always learning. Whether it’s reading books on business and personal growth, studying market trends, or exploring real estate investing, I’m constantly looking for ways to grow so I can better serve the people who trust me. “Growth” is a singular word that many would use to best describe me.
At home, life is shared with my husband and our two French bulldogs, Hank and Izzy, who keep us entertained and make sure there’s never a dull moment.
More than anything, I hope people walk away from working with me feeling informed, supported, and genuinely cared for and feeling like family. If I can make what is often one of the biggest decisions in someone’s life feel a little less overwhelming and a lot more exciting, then I’ve done my job.
