Oak City Performance Shop LLC was born out of a deep passion for cars, speed, and performance. What started as a personal hobby—building engines with family from the age of 9, tinkering in a home garage and helping friends with their builds—quickly evolved into something much bigger. We saw a growing need in the Raleigh-Durham area for a performance shop that not only delivered high-quality work but also genuinely cared about the car community.
In the early days, it was just two of us with big dreams. We built our reputation from the ground up by focusing on integrity, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Word of mouth traveled fast, and soon, Oak City became a trusted name for performance upgrades, custom builds, tuning, and maintenance for all types of vehicles—from daily drivers to full-blown track monsters.
Today, Oak City Performance Shop LLC is more than just a business—it’s a hub for car enthusiasts who expect precision, reliability, and honesty. We’ve grown our team, expanded our services, and continue to invest in the latest tools and technology to stay ahead of the curve. But no matter how much we grow, we’ll always stick to our roots: a genuine love for performance and a commitment to our clients.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t always been a smooth ride for Oak City Performance Shop. Like many in the custom automotive and performance world, we’ve faced our share of challenges along the way. From unpredictable supply chain delays that can stall even the most exciting builds, to the constant push to meet high customer expectations while staying on schedule and within budget, the road has tested us more than once. we’ve also tried to stay ahead of rapidly evolving technology- all while juggling the financial demands of large, long-term projects. But every obstacle has been a chance to grow. We’ve adapted, leveled up, and remained committed to what matters most: delivering exceptional service and earning the trust of every enthusiast who puts their trust and vehicle in our hands.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are dedicated to performing aftermarket installs, engine builds, and general maintenance. We Work on Everything from Classic Cars to Exotic supercars, and everything in between. We are a small business with a Crew of Two technicians and one service advisor that specialize in the opposite spectrums of the car industry than each other. This helps to ensure a broad range of knowledge and specialization between many manufacturers. We provide some of the best work you can get in the Triangle area for all of our customers vehicles. Every single vehicle that comes through our doors is repaired properly to the manufacturers specs no matter if it is a Volkswagen, Ferrari, Lamborghini, or Chevrolet (for example). Services include everything from coolant leaks, oil leaks, timing chains, engine builds and swaps, aftermarket installs, Turbo Charger installs, Air suspension, and fabrication. We take pride in being honest techs, if you bring us a vehicle and we don’t feel comfortable taking on the job, we will do our absolute best to point you in the right direction to get your project or daily driver back on the road.

Take pride in your work, do an honest and good job no matter how long it takes, and the work will follow. We have grown our business on word of mouth alone and have done zero advertising besides social media.
