Inspiring Conversations with Ned Bixby of All Time Performance Physical Therapy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ned Bixby.

Hi Ned, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I became fascinated with human movement back in high school when I started working out with a friend and realized how powerful the body can be when it moves well. That curiosity led me to study at UNC–Chapel Hill and begin my career in physical therapy after graduating in 2018.
I’ve worked in both a small, family-owned clinic and a large hospital system, which helped shape my skills and perspective. Over the years, I continued to deepen my focus on movement, rehabilitation, and performance, especially for active adults who want to stay strong and keep doing what they love.
In 2025, I opened my own clinic to provide a higher level of physical therapy—care that is truly individualized, unrushed, and centered around each person’s goals rather than insurance limitations. I especially love working with people who play tennis or pickleball. I play myself, and I love that these sports can be enjoyed throughout a lifetime, supporting both physical health and meaningful social connection.
After years in high-volume, fast-paced clinics, I experienced burnout that came from not being able to care for people the way I knew they deserved. One of the most rewarding parts of my work is taking the time to listen to each person’s story and understand why their activity matters to them. That insight allows us to create thoughtful, personalized plans that support performance, confidence, and long-term health. Opening my own practice allowed me to reconnect with why I chose this profession in the first place. Today, I feel incredibly grateful to help motivated individuals invest in themselves, move better, and continue living active, fulfilling lives—both on and off the court.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most entrepreneurial journeys, it hasn’t been perfectly smooth. It’s often an up-and-down process with moments of real progress followed by periods that test your patience and confidence. One of the most helpful things I’ve done is invest in excellent coaching, which has helped me stay focused during slower periods, recognize even the small wins, and keep moving forward with clarity and perspective.
One of the biggest challenges was stepping away from a stable job and predictable paycheck to build something more variable and uncertain. Navigating that transition has required a lot of trust and mental resilience. Balancing the demands of growing a new business while also being present for my family, especially with two young children, has been both challenging and motivating.
Fortunately, I have an incredibly supportive wife and family who encourage me every step of the way. Their support has made it possible to keep pushing forward, even during the harder moments, and it reminds me why building something meaningful is worth the effort.

We’ve been impressed with All Time Performance Physical Therapy, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
All Time Performance (ATP) Physical Therapy helps active adults return to, and stay confident in, the activities they love, with a special focus on tennis and pickleball players. Our care goes beyond pain relief, emphasizing strength, mobility, and performance so clients can continue playing and staying active for years to come.
After years in traditional, insurance-based clinics, I wanted to create a different experience; one centered on quality, not volume. At ATP, every client receives one-on-one care for a full hour, allowing us the time to truly listen, understand individual goals, and address the root cause of movement limitations rather than just symptoms.
Because we operate as an out-of-network provider, we’re able to provide personalized, unrestricted care and often help clients reach their goals more efficiently. Many of our clients are motivated individuals in midlife who value their health and want to feel strong, capable, and confident both on and off the court.
At its core, ATP is about thoughtful, individualized care that supports an active, fulfilling lifestyle at every stage of life.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
One thing I think is important for readers to know is that my approach is very focused on longevity, especially for tennis and pickleball players. These are sports that can be enjoyed well into midlife and beyond when the body is supported with the right strength, mobility, and movement habits. My goal is not just to help someone return after an injury, but to help them stay on the court feeling confident, powerful, and resilient.
I also understand that many of my clients are in a season of life where they finally have the time and freedom to invest in themselves. My goal is to make that investment feel worthwhile, by providing thoughtful care, clear education, and a plan that helps them feel capable in their bodies again, not hesitant or fragile.
At the end of the day, my practice is built on relationships and trust. I want clients to feel supported, listened to, and confident that they have a plan to keep doing what they love, not just now, but for years to come.
