Hi Sean, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is name is Sean Sherrod, And I’m the Owner of: Sherrod Music Agency from Morehead City, North Carolina. Which is an Independent Record Label. I’m also a Music Manager, A&R Consultant. Several years ago, I began My journey into the Music Industry as a Music Manager. I Managed a known artist from Atlanta, Georgia. Another year later, I became Management for an Independent Record Label located in Texas. Which I was Management and an A&R for over a year with an Independent Record Label. I branded out on My own and began Managing a Hip-Hop artist from Maryland. I was able to provide My Client a Label Meeting with the President of Motown, and a meeting with a known A&R at Capitol Records. I also Managed a female Pop artist from Australia during the Covid-19 Pandemic. I have been working with a Songwriter/Ghostwriter from New York City, which I began releasing their material under My Company/Label name. I was also a A&R Consultant for a female Pop Artist from Las Vegas. I am able to set up meetings with Major Labels, do Artist Development, Music Management, Marketing, looking over business proposals, making contracts, and so much more. I’m very professional and have the correct contacts to work swiftly within the Music Industry
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was definitely been a challenging road. I basically started from the ground up to build my name and brand. I have a great reputation and quite a well name. Struggles included would be: Getting clients’ numbers up to an accepted measure, making up huge contracts and securing label meetings at a scheduled date, late hours working on paperwork or emails.

Sherrod Music Agency is an Independent Record Label. The Company also offers Artist Development, Music Management, Marketing, Major Label Meetings, A&R Consultant services.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Within the next 5-10 years, I would want to have a great team and staff. Having partnerships with other labels and establishments. Getting more involved with helping out communities
