Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Brooks.
Hi Stacy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always been a very nurturing person. I wanted to be a nurse when I was younger because nurses help people. Although my circumstances didn’t allow me to go on to nursing school, I did get into Veterinary Medicine and helped animals, who I also have a great passion for, for about 18 years. Until at age 42, I decided it was time for a change. My own chronic pain had led me to chiropractic care and massage therapy so I decided that I wanted to be a massage therapist and helped people who are in pain. So, I went to massage school at night for close to two years. When I obtained my massage license I started my own business. That was four years ago and I help people every single day. People find me because they are in pain. They stay with me for maintenance so they can help themselves stay out of pain. I’m living my dream.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think any road worth taking is going to be smooth. That would be boring wouldn’t it? Yes, there were obstacles, one being my age. I was 42 starting over and my classmates were in their 20’s. But I was determined and my husband, who is my rock, was always up for a study session with me. I made through and even got the honor of Salutatorian of my graduating class. That’s still surreal to me.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
At Alyvia, I focus on the individual. Sessions are integrative and use several different techniques and modalities to benefit each client each day. I have a passion for helping people out of pain and into the best versions of themselves.
Communication is key and I love to communicate and educate my clients. I want to find the root cause of the pain, not just put an expensive bandaid on it.
I am extremely proud that so many people trust me and allow me to be a part of their healing journey.
What were you like growing up?
I was (am) a Tomboy. I grew up in the country and loved being outdoors in nature with my animals. I was always curious and liked to take things apart to see how they worked. I was also very nurturing as a child. I remember rubbing my mom’s shoulders when she’d had a bad day. I was shy but wanted to help whenever I could.
