Today we’d like to introduce you to Tabitha Lewis.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My walk-in life started with my mother. She was the MVP of business. As a little girl, she taught me business inside out. I learned most from just observing her and how she moved in business. Some of the critical points I still use in my everyday walk as I work with clients and students today are business ethics, professionalism, staying organized, navigating past challenges, understanding my numbers, and solid focus to get things done. Those key points and more are naturally embedded in me from my youth.
As I entered my teenage years, I experienced some life challenges. I became a teen mom at the age of 14. At first, I thought it was all over for the plans I had for my life. Honestly, it just made me push more. Mainly because I knew now someone was depending on me. I started to take school more seriously and graduated at 16 years old. I started my college journey at 16 years old.
Fast Forward, I finished college with a master’s in business with Project Management. Even though life was challenging, I never stopped learning and bettering my educational journey. After college, I still, to this day, complete continuing education in the areas of tax, business innovation, and so much more to better serve my clients and the students I work with.
Today, I serve business owners by helping them through challenges in business centered around profit, tax, and growth strategies. THL has become a blessing to the businesses and students we work with because we not only assist with solutions, but we listen and educate first. By listening and educating first, we find that it is invaluable to the long-term success results.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Smooth road??? No on some days, and yes on other days. Speaking from a mom in business, we have more things to tackle as you run a business. Throughout my journey, I have learned to stop reacting to everything. In my earlier years as a mom in business, I would respond to everything as a mom by trying to balance motherhood and business life. I have learned over the years to let God handle the things you cannot control, and I take the things I can control. Once I started to do that, things were more smooth to handle. Also, pushing forward and not dwelling on the past.
