Hi Tanz’nay , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I embarked on my massage journey at the age of 21. I attended Gwinnett College Raleigh Campus in 2019 and graduated in November 2020. The program was meant to be completed in 9 months, but life challenges arose as I juggled motherhood and student life. However, the pandemic surprisingly worked in my favor, allowing me to focus solely on my studies. It was during this time that the concept of ASH & Unwine Massage LLC was born. Fast forward to February 28, 2024, when I proudly opened the doors to my suite and began serving clients. I am thrilled to be a small business owner, offering essential massage therapy services that have constantly evolving benefits for the human body. I believe self-care is not just a luxury, but an investment in one’s mind, body, and soul. Through massage therapy, I aim to give back to people through the transformative power of touch.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a skilled massage therapist, running a business was a new challenge. I didn’t study business in school, but life is about continuous learning. I faced challenges such as managing multiple roles, including being my own receptionist, spa attendant, marketing manager, and social media manager. It was all on me, but I overcame these challenges by connecting with other small business owners and massage therapists. We shared ideas and experiences through monthly meetings and group chats.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Success requires perseverance, consistency, and patience. I’ve faced numerous challenges in just a few months, but I’m determined to continue educating people on massage therapy and changing lives through alternative healthcare.
