Inspiring Conversations with Tiara Nicole of Hair Miracles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiara Nicole.

Hi Tiara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story begins being a little girl in Fayetteville, NC. Both of my parents were in the military, but I always knew I wanted to own my own business. I started doing hair on my mannequins around age 6. By the age of 7, I was curling and relaxing my mom’s hair. By 13, I started taking clients at home and receiving payments for my services. After graduating high school, I kept doing my hair on the side while majoring in business management at NC A&T State University. After my freshman year of college, I decided to “take a break” and work full-time. I had a love for the hospitality field and worked as a waitress, still doing hair on the side.

After the birth of my oldest daughter, I decided to enroll in cosmetology school but didn’t complete the program until 2015. Since receiving my cosmetology license, I have received my Hair Loss Practitioner Certification, and Natural Hair Care Teacher license and I’m currently completing my Trichology certification. Being a licensed cosmetologist is what I do on a day-to-day basis, but hospitality is my heart. I started my own catering service in 2012. My catering is what motivated me to go back and complete my cosmetology program. I wanted to have a career that allowed me to make my own schedule so that I could focus on my family and building my catering business. Working the standard 9-5 limited my time with my family, my funds, and my catering opportunities. I definitely made the right choice.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing worth having is going to come without challenges. Some of the struggles I have faced are anxiety, lack of support, divorce, hurricanes, death, and homelessness to name a few. But no matter what, I kept my end goal in mind and remained faithful, never losing my smile.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Hair Miracles?
Hair Miracles is committed to providing great customer service and teaching clients the importance of healthy hair. I service natural hair, chemically treated hair, and all ethnicities. That’s very important information for those looking for a cosmetologist. My integrity sets me apart from others.

I’m not looking to take your money, I’m looking to change the way your feel in the most positive way. I’m most proud of the growth of my brand. I established my business in my hometown of Fayetteville, NC, and grew even more in Raleigh, N.C. Please know that I am here to teach you how to take care of your hair. Empowerment is the motive.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My advice for finding a mentor is able to let someone mentor you. You have to know how to listen, accept criticism and be open to stepping outside of your comfort zone. These are the things that have worked well for me. No matter how long I’m in this business, there will be a thirst to learn more and not stay complacent.

Will Hair Miracles be branching out to other states like Utah, Los Angeles, or Arizona?
