Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany And Evan Jones.
Tiffany and Evan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My husband Evan and I moved to Virginia in 2021 to take over his family farm. It was not operational for a few years but we have grown it to include deer, dove, turkey and bear hunts, as well as an annual Blueberry Festival.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Our biggest struggle has been trying to manage 350 acres with a young child and limited child care options since we are so rural. But now, our daughter has learned to love to hunt and pick blueberries.
We’ve been impressed with White Oaks Preserve, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our main focus at White Oaks is sustainable hunting. We offer limited hunts of deer, bear, turkey and dove. We also offer fishing and have a shooting range. Our hunting lodge is over 100 years old and can be rented on VRBO in our off seasons. In addition to hunting, we also have an annual Blueberry Festival the 2nd weekend in July. There are food trucks, craft vendors, kids activities, pie eating contests and more!
Our future plans include a wedding venue!
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I think the need to enjoy nature and disconnect more will help us grow.
