Hi T’Keyah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I have been writing and creating things my entire life. My passion for tea grew from watching my dad steep tea each morning before work. It was like watching a science experiment. What am I going to mix today? He had to get it just right in order for the flavors to work well together. Little did I know that I would become a tea purveyor myself.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Anything but smooth. From dream killers to naysayers; one of the major challenges I faced was getting my target audience to understand the value of my product. You can have an amazing product but if people don’t understand the benefit, and why they need it they aren’t going to buy it.
My mentor once told me “If they don’t see the value in your product they will not buy your product. People love to spend money. You’ll see the moment you see the dots connect everything will change. More people love tea than you know. ”
It was at that moment I realized how much more work I had to do.

TKaye & Co is an Artisan Tea Company, that creates one-of-a-kind tea blends with the sole purpose to help you stay healthy, well, moving, and grooving. Our tea is made for movement. Made for life.
Each of my staple teas tells a story – like Just Relax (A Chamomile Tea) was birthed from watching a loved one suffer from postpartum, and figuring out a way in which I could help. To Oh Ginger! (my Ginger and Turmeric Tea) which is now a best-seller was blended for my dad’s love of tea and ginger. It’s my ode to him.
I’m most proud of the evolution of my brand. When I first started my tea company, I didn’t have fancy packaging. I just did it, and I did it scared. It ultimately paid off.
