Inspiring Conversations with Tyler Wittkofsky of Tea With Coffee Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Wittkofsky.

Hi Tyler, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story starts back in 2019 when I first decided to write and self-publish a book. The first book I wrote was (Not) Alone, the story of a young man traversing his diagnosis with bipolar disorder. Following that, I released a poetry collection that I wrote in my darkest battles with mental illness. Next, I published The Seeds of Love: Sunflower Kisses Book one which followed a mentally ill young man in his journey to find love.

Throughout that time, I was heavily involved in two online writing projects: The Darkened Veil Universe and In the Pantheon. These two online writing projects challenged writers to choose beings from history to retell their stories in modern times. It was there that I met Kelsey Anne Lovelady, Aaran Jolly, and Victoria Moxley.

In late 2021, I approached the three of them with an idea of starting a publishing company. It turned out that Aaran had already had the idea to start their own publishing company, so we combined our knowledge and skills to bring Tea With Coffee Media to life.

We published our first book in June of 2022 and have published about a book a month since. We have aspirations to help as many indie authors reach success as possible.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
While I run Tea With Coffee Media, I still work a day job. I lost my day job in March of 2022 which made paying bills both personally and for the business a challenge. My wife and I were able to pay all of our business expenses throughout that time, but we had to sacrifice some personal purchases.

It is also difficult when so many talented authors and deserving stories are submitted to us that we ultimately have to reject. We want to empower authors, so turning them down is never easy.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business?
