Terran Eaton shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Terran, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
Most people think that Acting is mimicking or even explaining expression and overreacting. But it’s not it’s tearing n the veil or mask off and showing your emotions, struggles, or even shortcomings. It’s therapeutic.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey, what’s going on? I’m Terran Teejay Eaton an actor and entertainer and creative in the Raleigh area. I currently have been in a few films on Tubi, YouTube, Amazon prime, and a plethora of plays coming from my training from theatre at British American Dramatic Arts and North Carolina A&T.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
The first time I felt powerful was in seventh grade I won the best supporting actor and was extremely happy, I knew that acting makes me feel seen and being known for acting and doing what I love made me feel powerful, even influential.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I worked at Village Tavern and one of my coworkers teased me for chasing my acting dreams. He was a former podcast person and gave up and my calling out to go on set made him feel the need to ostracize me in front of other servers. Mocking my passion and drive. Another time while serving at STIR one of my coworkers asked me what have I done, and if I done any acting why am I server. She insisted that I prove my worth, and laughing blatantly to my face. What I learned is that the meek shall inherit the earth. The doers will get laughed at by the naysayers and doing it in silence makes the success even louder.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
I am actually very anxious and nervous around people at times. I would like to say that I’m an empath because I can feel people’s emotions and worries and an sensitive to people’s dreams, desires, and goals and I am very keen on who I am around. I am very extroverted love people and a party, but when I whiff an attitude or energy that is unpleasant I distance myself.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I got into a car accident literally riding a Lyft in 2025 and the person I was talking to was there for me. She helped me through the ups and downs and although we didn’t work out I realized that legacy means being there while you can. Legacy is the memory that sticks with you, it’s an aroma after your gone, it’s your scent or your fragrance. I want people to understand that my acting isn’t my legacy. I pray that my legacy is how I make people feel seen and heard and valued as my legacy. I want to inspire and empower.
