Life & Work with Adam Jackson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Jackson.

Adam, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?

My name is Adam Jackson, I’m 21 years old and I was born in Goldsboro, NC. I graduated High School in 2018 and attended Barton College as a Theatre major. After a couple of semesters there I decided to move back home and take some time off from school. I realized that school was not for me at the time because I was uncertain of what I wanted to do as a career. I started back working full time and focused on saving money to move out and get my own place. While being back at home for a while, I saved up enough money to buy my first “professional” camera as I like to call it. I had always had a passion for capturing different moments in life through my eyes with a camera. So, once I got my camera, I dived deeper into that passion and had photoshoots with friends around town. Soon after, I started my own photography business – Adam Jackson Photography. In March of 2020, I moved to Greenville, NC with one of my best friends. I continued working full-time in the restaurant business and continued working on my photography business. After about a year in Greenville, my brother and I decided to move to Raleigh, NC. I’ve always thought that Raleigh was a beautiful city and I knew that moving here would allow me to have more opportunities to pursue my passion. My family has supported me through it all and I would not be where I am today without them. I have also worked with some amazing clients that helped me grow as a photographer and gain more knowledge about the photography world. I’m new to the Raleigh area and hope to grow my business with new clientele. I look forward to the future and I am excited to see what this wonderful city has to offer!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

I think my biggest challenge through this journey has been growing my photography as a business. It’s hard to turn your creativity into a paying job. Another obstacle that I’ve met along the way has been competition. There’re so many talented photographers around North Carolina.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

I am a North Carolina Photographer. I typically specialize in Portrait and Lifestyle photography, but I also have experience in Senior sessions, Maternity, etc. My goal as a photographer is to allow my clients to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. I love using my creative side to capture those magical moments in life!

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?

The most important lesson that I’ve learned along my journey is to never give up. Things might not always go the way that you planned, but giving up will only set you back further. In order to be successful, you must continue to move forward and give it your all!
