Life & Work with Antony Woodard of North Carolina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antony Woodard.

Antony , we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started as a hip hop artist. I was inspired to design by a post I saw on Instagram by hip hop juggernaut about artists having merch
That inspired me to go further and create my own clothing brand.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road. I started deigning on my phone. And had no help outside of questions answered by the few people I know who did it before me.
I remember sitting in my room hours on end, sometimes all day working on graphics before I even had a tangible garment.
But I had such a passion for it days I would reach out to other artist in hopes of designing for them and help with a form of income they could use towards funding their dream and promoting their brand.
Even designing garments and purchasing them myself to give to people.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well I’m a lover of the arts first music
That I still have a passion for
I promote on all platforms but mainly on SoundCloud due to it giving me the opportunity not be perfect and get verbal feedback on my songs. Despite many life tribulations and lack of direction and drive I have accumulated over 100k collective streams
I current live in Raleigh by way of Apex/Holly Springs and what I seem to be know mostly for here is being well dressed and wearing outfits that have been the start of many conversations
And I take pride in the majority of wardrobe I own consisting of something I designed
So it’s a beautiful thing for someone to compliment something I have on and I can reply with”thank you, I designed this”

What makes you happy?
Two things come to mind creating music I love taking a sample I heard and hearing my mentor PB Beat turn it into a masterpiece and I make something personal that is relatable to people I sometimes never even met. And the other is
I really Love shopping my only vice is clothing
Even if what I buy I don’t have a immediate need for it I just love creative expression through art in the form of fashion
And when my art of music and design is appreciated it gives me a feeling of pride I can’t express because I know the feeling of feeling unseen and forgotten.
