Today we’d like to introduce you to Camilla Sanders.

Hi Camilla, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello, my name is Camilla Sanders the owner of Love & Lux L.L.C. I am a Johnston County resident born and raised. I am also a single mom to my son Cayden. Love & Lux L.L.C was created in 2021 during the pandemic. I needed to supplement my income.

I always had love and passion for events and parties. I love to celebrate others and life-changing events and milestones like Babyshowers, Weddings, Birthdays, Retirement, etc. I thought about how I could put smiles back on people faces since our lives was turned upside down by this pandemic.

God gave me the vision and I took it from there to become an event planner. I also thought about purchasing a couple of items to rent for events as well. I purchased a candy buffet cart and an 18-inch inflatable movie screen and projector. I knew at least with the movie projector and screen people could gather outdoors and enjoy themselves and their families during the pandemic without restrictions on contact.

I posted a picture of my candy buffet cart on social media and Love & Lux L.L.C began. Later in the year, I was given an opportunity to apply for this business class called Launch JoCo through The Clayton Department Of Commerce. This class would teach me how to take my small business and turn it into a successful business. I graduated in May 2022.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it was not a smooth road at all. Still learning each and every day. Becoming a small business owner is hard work, there is so much you have to learn about owning and running a business.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I mainly do balloons decorations. Balloon Garlands, Arches, Backdrops, Mosaics, Bouquets, Balloon Walls etc.

I always put love into my work when I decorate. I love to create an experience for my clients. Something they will always remember and cherish. I also have the Candy Buffet Cart, Movie Screen, and Projector for Rent also.

What does success mean to you?
I define success as always being real and doing what you suppose to do as a person. Crossing all your T’s and dotting all your I’s. Making goals, reaching those goals, and watching them come to pass.

Always have an open mind and be willing to take on new heights on all levels. Never give up, no matter how many times you have been knocked down. You just get back up and continue to strive for better. That is what I think success is.
